I enjoy Jazz. When my contempoaries were listening to some Elvis guy, I was enjoying Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto.

Lately I've been listening to Chris Botti and Ramsey Lewis.

Atmosphere isn't old school. Easy E is old school!

Wait, what? And who?

ha haaaa...the line "and it goes a little something like this" is from NWA's 'Straight Outta Compton'....just a little pun on your "old school" rap reference...Carole King is also from the "old school" of songwriting craftsmanship...she and her then-husband Garry Goffin penned a lot of big hits for Aretha Franklin and others when they worked in the Brill Building in New York City...a place where all these songwriters worked every day, churning out hit after hit for what became some of the biggest acts of the 50's and 60's...Neil Sedaka is another one...awesome stuff....

Usually when I name off my favorite bands or what I'm listening to, I get a lot of blank stares, so I won't feel bad if nobody knows most of these bands. Here's the ten albums I've been rocking lately:

Modest Mouse - We Were All Dead Before The Ship Even Sank
Sigur Rós - Hvarf/Heim
Regina Spektor - Begin To Hope
Death Cab For Cutie - Narrow Stairs
The National - Boxer
Andrew Bird - Noble Beast
Margot & the Nuclear So and So's - Not Animal
Keane - Perfect Symmetry
Snow Patrol - A Hundred Million Suns
Wolf Parade - At Mount Zoomer
-Kyle
