Sverre,
I've been suggesting similar for a while too so I'm quite happy! ;) :D
It's perverse but I find NKPs less threatened by a hunting knife blade than they are by the leaf blade.

2.0" Slipit made by Fox - Italian spyderco

#464

Post by stonefrog »

Hi, Just for those interested. Havn't seen this mentioned on here.
The very strong Euro makes it difficult to sell Italian made products at this time. We are currently having Fox make a 2.0" Slipit for us and we're trying to figure out how to keep the cost down.

New Fox can be very interesting. I think this is what my wife wanted, she doesn't like FRN on her Ladybug. If new knife will be up to Volpe level, it would be exquisite. Of cause i will have to buy two
Stonefrog, thank you for the tip.

Roman,

Have you seen these? : http://www.agrussell.com/fox-cutlery-sp ... hhSPY2AMB/

Slightly larger than the Ladybug, very nice F&F. Only bad thing is the price.
But then again... You can get it in Olive wood :D

sal wrote: The Tenacious, while appearing simple, is a very refined design. It was created for a particular type of customer that liked certain features. (High cutting edge/blade length ratio, certain heft, etc). Eric and I refined the design continuosly for over 6 months before we were satisfied that the design would serve the customer. There is nothing really quite like it in our line up.

We have spent the past 6 months refining its smaller bother, the "Persistence".

Looks like the Ten is getting a sibling. Bring it on Sal.

I don't think so. The knife You can buy at A.G. Russell is not a slipjoint, it is a very small version of the Volpe and has a frame-lock.

2/9 Manix 2 a bomb for a few reasons, good to see you on the net Eric Glesser!

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showt ... 285&page=2
Eric Glesser wrote:We can’t show too much because it’s a Proto. This is the Manix2 87mm
-Dual stainless liners
-Evolved jimping
-Reversible hourglass clip
-Enlarged lanyard
-Thinner/lighter/longer (But still incredibly strong)
-Ball bearing lock
-Improved ergonomics
-The first version will be 154CM Black G-10
We’ll have lightweights and upgraded steels to come later. We’re also working on the larger version.
Thanks for all the support on the Manix and we’re glad to have the opportunity to make another.

Jumpmaster superior edge retention 2/10/09

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showt ... p?t=620041
Eric Glesser wrote:BTW - the serrated Jumpmaster outperformed any other blade we’ve tested in edge retention.
Eric Glesser wrote:Yes the blades were serrated. We believe the high performance is due to a few things. The bevel grind is straight at the edge with no curve and the bevel grind is high. With the combination of unique bevel grind, serrations, and steel, we believe this causes the blade to get work hardened more than most. We’ve also seen teeth on H1 bend before they break which shows how tough the steel can be. Add to the fact that it will never rust and this is truly a special piece.

Somthing for the Lil temp fans...

We've got an updated Lil' Temperance design that we thought about making a run with the Superhawk lock. Maybe G-10 & VG-10, made in Seki.

Jot Singh Khalsa

#480

Post by Jay_Ev »

From a thread in 2008:
jotkhalsa wrote:Hello All,
I'm Jot Singh Khalsa. Some years ago I designed a clipit for Spyderco after Sal Glesser invited me to do so. I made a custom liner lock folder with a jade handle and my damascus steel blade for his personal collection which I believe was quite similar in shape to the production version Spyderco produced. There were some problems and the C40 didn't last very long in production. Sal and I have spoken about reintroducing the knife with some modifications-but it seems to be on a "back burner." JSK
jotkhalsa wrote:Sal,
Thanks for your kind words and info. around the C40. I'd be happy to work with you/your team members to design and create a revised/ideal version of the knife. Let me know how we might proceed, at your convenience. Best to you and yours, JSK
sal wrote:ok guys & gals,

Jot works with more materials than most makers so sky's the limit. He made a jade handled damascus (serrated) linerlock for me with a ruby thumbstud.

That's probably a bit much for production, but I think you get the idea.

Damascus is possible (probably not Jot's as I don't think he's set up for production quantities). I'm sure Devin can make production quantities, but then the price goes up quite a bit.

Blade length? Handle? Steel? Lock?

whatdoyouwant?

Jot, get out your drawing pencil and feel free to chime in.
