Did I miss this one?

We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.

Frankly, I'm a bit suspicious. I'll give it the benifit of the doubt, though.

That'd be a clone of the MN07 Mini Police Necklace. Another rare one is the TC07 tie clip. I'll see if I can't pull up more info on the mn07 as far as dates.

I wouldn't call it a clone of the Mini-Police. A spin-off, maybe, but the handle shape is different, and it lacks teeth.

Is it actually a legitimate Spyderco product, though?

There's also no lock on this one and the lanyard hole is actually in the handle. IIRC, the mini police had a back lock and had a lanyard attachment point that protruded from the butt of the handle.

I grabbed one. We''ll see. It is from a pretty trusted seller. I have bought a couple of knives from them before with no problems.

Odd there was no mention of it in the '09 catalog. On the other hand, Sal does love his little surprises. Would be nice if he or Kristi chimed in, but imagine they're both pretty busy at SHOT.

It was a dealer surprise as well. I received a dealer special .pdf last week announcing the BUG. They arrived in Golden on Monday and my shipment came in on Thursday morning.

The BUG is tiny, tiny, tiny... and comes in a VERY small white box labeled "BUG KNIFE". When I got the .pdf announcing their upcoming infestation, I went and bought a bunch of 24" chains to convert them into a Spyderco "necklace". Fits great through the lanyard hole.

The BUG KNIFE without the chain is also available. Very cute little buggers. Yes, this is a SAL surprise, and a good one. The BUG is probably the SHOT SHOW giveaway trinket, but apparently Golden decided to make them available to dealers as well. Therefore, End Users enjoy!

I'm pretty sure it's legit, but I'll let Sal or Kristi spill the beans on this one. ;)

The knifecenter.com blog mentions them being at SHOT. He says the Tiny Slipit retail will be $7.95. They are not yet on their site though...

Poor Fish

Has anyone tried this retailer? I have purchased from them on the Bay and they seem to be the most reasonable around. I don't know they can sell at these prices but some how they do. God bless them. :D

ldun33, kind of a thread hijack, but I'll guess you meant to hit the new post button.

I have used poor fish, and haven't had any problems. They did have a goofy sale recently where a dragonfly blade was photoshopped onto an endura 4 handle.

Back to the Bug. . .
I wonder if SanteFe or anyone else is going to start customizing these?

I considered it fairly legit when I received the .pdf announcement from Karen, the Spyderco Sales secretary. Hope this eases your mind a little until you hear from a reliable source....
