Any new reversed S blades in our future?

#1

Post by DMgangl »

It is my understanding that Sal and the gang have several designs on the table. I was wondering if there is any plan to have a new functional reversed S curve blade. I have been carrying my cricket and playing with it constantly, and it makes me obviously want more. To my knowledge there have only been small reversed S blades with a functional design, the Cricket, Dodo, and Spot. I would be interested in a larger blade maybe around the length of the Endura.
So do we have anymore curves in our future?

i'd love to see reverse S blades in the D4 and E4 platforms... FRN to make them more affordable... maybe utility use tips rather than SD ultra-thin tips?

BRING 'EM ON!!!! :D

Think I've occasionally hassled Sal and co. for a reverse-S Byrd. Reasons being:

1) Cheaper for them to produce, but still good quality
2) Cheaper for the ELU to buy, they'd be more willing to buy a strange looking knife for $20 or 30 rather than $70-80.
3) Easier for us to gift them!
4) I think the comet hole might look better with a reverse-S blade. :p

That said, it'd have to be more of a Dodo type blade to be more of a work knife.

Bloody useful profile! Not sure how much more or less useful than a hawkbill though - I have a cricket and spot - almost same blade on them - but no "pure" hawkbills (eg superhawk, harpy etc) as yet.

I would guess that they would be similar enough in function? I wouldnt know for certain though - as I haven't used the full hawkbills yet. Something I shall have to remedy.

I'd be all for a new reverse S blade. It's extremely useful for EDC.

The reverse S has to be my personal favorite. It's most functional and compact design is ideal for an EDC. I LOVE my Meerkats and Dodo!! I would be all over a new Reverse S design

Well, a reverse S blade in Cara cara handle... something like a budget, everyday use-friendly Matriarch... That would be a knife I would buy in a heartbeat :) .
...but no, no, you know it all, it's harmless little bunny...

Well if you check out some older posts, you'll see that the curved ones are much loved here. I think JD, Slice & others will chime in. Do a search on what Slice mentioned :D

Matriarch

Hey all they got to do to satisfy my urge for a reverse S blade is to bring back the old Matriarch model. Or to modify the old Matriarch model and maybe make it with a newer blade steel. I'm easy to please as long as they do what I want them to do :D
