A must buy list?

#1

Post by fredswartz »

Do you have a mental list of knives, guns etc. that you know you will buy if they come up on any of the forums, the price is within reason and you are the first guy to get there with the money. I can't remember how many times that I have impulsively bought things like this but the attached list will give you some idea. I found this list of Spyderco's in my gun safe but have since sold them all. I got interested again and now have 10 more, mostly C52's.

My present want list consists of:

Spyderco Gray Calypso Jr. (I just got outbid on ebay)
Spyderco Wegner Jr. PE (Owned them, sold them, regret it)
Spyderco Orange UK Pen Knife (I keep putting this one off)

Use to have a huge list. Wound up eventually finding them all. Now about all I have is a list of handle materials for future SFSW Kiwi projects. :o :D

I have a short mental list of knives to buy; some of which is in my sig line. Then there is my wish list- much longer, but my budget is the limiting factor here.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

I've had the list, but after buying many of them, I still kept using the same ones.

My list now is quite short. It's mostly nostalgic for the ones I let go and regret or are nice big flat ground working knives. Sometimes those coincide like the C54 Calypso and the C40 Khalsa. I've found my niche and don't get out of it too often.

As much as I like knives, I have other hobbies/needs to fill as well.

About the only one I'm really interested in at the moment in :spyder: is the new Sage and that's a definite :) Other than that, it's probably going to be "wingits" :D

I have a huge list....

But, I keep it more as an exercise in OCD control.

Delica and Endura are great knives! They're the low priced crack samples that'll get you hooked on spyderco! Feed the need!

I feel your pain, man!

I would love a Benelli Super Nova Tac with pistolgrip (to go with my 26" Nova and Nova Tac), a SIG P239 9mm (to go with my P229), and a Surefire E2D LED. Oh, and Mr. Schempp's Kris and Khukuri are calling me right now. It's almost painful, is it not? :D

I used to have a list which was EXACTLY the same number of knives that Spyderco has produced :D funny that ! :p

Since then my list has been transferred to an Excel spreadsheet and colour coded by priority of 'wantedness' :D

There are knives that I absolutely NEED (well.... you know aht I mean ;) ), then there are some that I would really like to have if the price is OK, and there are some that would be nice to have, but I think that once I get it and photograph it then I might sell it off at a loss.

So , in short most of the list is now in my head as I have a lot of my grails hunted down from a couple of years of Spydermania - Daniel Style :D Now I concentrate on getting some nicer ones, unusual ones, and ones to complete or complement my current hoard :)
Cheers

My list of knives to buy isn't very extensive. I think a black Tasman Salt and black UKPK tops my list of knives I want to pick up sometime in the new year. I like the idea of a one handed slippy.

Otherwise, I'm looking to expand my collection of Salts, as I am just head over heels in love with my PacSalt. Black Tasman SE, Yellow Salt 1 PE, maybe a Saver Salt...I'm looking at all of you.

I want to pick up a Caly 3 at some point (I want to test out the wire clip), a mini-Persian, and a Centofante 3 (I like bellies on my knives). I'm sure there are others that I want, but this is the list of stuff that is definitely on the 'Too buy' list.
Current collection: Black PE Millie, Yellow SE Tasman, Black E4 PE FRN, Yeller Pacific Salt PE, SS Dragonfly PE, Orange FRN Ladybug, Black UKPK
Wishlist: Syderhawk Salt, non-green Rocklobster :)
