Spyderco Lighter anyone?

#1

Post by spyderHS08 »

Im no smoker, but ive collected a few pretty cool zippos. I think it would be awesome to see the :spyder: logo on a zippo. Either the chrome or brass would be kick a** , anybody else think so. also, does anyone think this could ever actually be a possibility..?
I would def buy at least one!

No interest personally. Quit smoking four years ago, have no need for a Zippo. I think, aside from lighter collectors and Spyderco enthusiasts who smoke, the appeal would be limited, since Zippos are not really well suited to first aid/emergency kit use, they dry out in a matter of days. On the other hand, the FireByrd would seem to indicate that Spyderco is not averse to linking their name to "smoker's tools" and Zippo is one of the few companies whose repuation for quality and customer service may be even better than Spyderco's. So maybe there is a potential market for a Spyderco "branded" Zippo.

I have carried a Zippo for 30 years. I would grab one with a Spyder on it in a second.

There was a thread about this not to long ago, all I can say is I really like mine.
A friend designed it for me, and gave it as a present for my birthday :)

I don't smoke either. Well not very often, I do occasionally fire up a cigar. I do however, think that this would be a good idea and since I carry a bic in my pocket daily cause just like a blade, you never know when you may need a flame. It would be nice to have a zippo spydie so I wouldn't have to keep the fuel button depressed on the bic. On the zippo you could light it and it will burn until you close it. I think it would be great if it could be designed like some zippos i've seen that automatically light when you open them. That would fall right in line with the easy openning characteristics of spydie knives.

I think we need a lighter tube for the Bali-Yo. I have no idea how it would work, but it would be pretty darn cool to have one of those things shooting flame while you flip it.
