Green, D2 Para...still in production?

#1

Post by jmfwsu »

Hi,

I just bought a Para in D2 on impulse. I'm just curious if it's still in production or not? Are there any negative issues with this one? Usually I research a lot before a purchase.

Thanks,
Jason

Good choice Jason!

It is not still in production as far as I know. I think they are still available but just not being produced. They will be gone soon.

The CPM-D2 kicks butt. The Foliage Green CPM-D2 Para you got rocks. Enjoy it.

The CPM D2 Para was a Sprint Run. A set number of pieces were made (1200 I think). Any still for sale are out of that one run. The only issue I'm aware of is there may not be enough of them to go around. ;)

The only issue you might get is blade staining. D2 is on the very bottom of the stainless steel ladder. As a matter of fact it is technically not even considered a stainless steel. It is close enough, however that you could consider it one.

That being the case, I might take a little more care of the blade than the S30V version. It seems that the "CPM" process makes a pretty stain resistant version of D2... I still might invest in a Marine Tuff Cloth and wide it down from time to time.

Great knife, however... :D
