Its been buried in mud, thrashed in the jungle, dropped and rolled over by a truck and still shines! <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> All I need, is a new tip cos they're really worn out! *hee-hee!*

My most hardworn knife is not a <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>(I take good care of my <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>) It is a swiss army classic. It got buried in mud for something like a year. The mud hardened and dried around the knife. Then, a year later, My brother found it. I cleaned it up, sharpened it, and oiled it. Now it works like new.


The only thing that has happened to my Rookie was my "friend" dropped it on the concrete, Stainless steel handle and all. Then my brother dropped it on our tile floor and it bounced around awhile(collecting many dents in the process).

Delica FRN and Dragonfly SS...

3 yrs of use on the Delica(my EDC beater), and no signs of wear.

7 months on the Dragonfly, many dents and scratches on the handle, but what do you expect with a work knife? It's only been dropped about 20 times...

[Blades]

My serrated Endura. The clips broke, it is scratched up, has even been dropped in a toliet once. It has been all over the world with me. Cut sandbags open when I was in Korea. Used it in Kuwait for cutting boxes/plastic for shipping containers. Cut open MRE bags in Saudi Arabia <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>. Its also cut the side wall of around 500 or so recall tires we had to destroy. I still carry it every day. I have one NIB(with a plastic clip) that I can't bring myself to carry. I picked it up in a trade to replace mine, but just can't. <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Most hardworn (any) knife: Landers, Frary & Clark slip joint. Must be 60+ years old but still serviceable as a fishing knife.

The two knives I've worn out the most are a K-55 cheapie from Solingen and a Schrade Walden large locking folder.

The K-55 was the most common knife on my block in Brooklyn. With a swiss file one could get the action to be so easy that a simple flick of the wrist and the blade was open. I used that knife for many years until I lost it. Of course, after a Spydie, the term easy opening has been redefined.

My locking Schrade Walden folder was my EDC for many years until I got my Military. It came in a leather pouch I wore on my belt. I used it in every set of circumstances, but I did have to reshape the blade. I was showing it to a friend who immediately tried to flick it into the ground breaking the tip off. I was so angry, I couldn't see. However, he was a terrific friend and I have mostly gotten over it (this happened in 1975).

I have too much respect for my tools to treat them the way I used to.

One way or the other, you pay for your tools!

"Cricket". Kinda makes one wonder : The
smallest Spydie and it's survived four (4)
years of dog food bags, card board boxes,
all kinds of tape, plastic packing straps, and general paper shredding duties and was
sent back to S.F.O. once to have the blade
"repolished".

My very first Spyderco, a Delica PE, would definately qualify. It has been a true performer in every need. After 8 years of EDC the handle is slick and the blade has lost some metal from numerous sharpenings. It still gets razor sharp though. Great knives, these Spydercos. I recently bought a Native and am transitioning to it as my EDC.

Endura lightweight plain-edge. I plan to keep on beating on this knife for a LONG time!

My most hardworked Spyder would have to be my Endura. It's an excellent knife that's almost always in my pocket.

Second place has a two-way tie. First would be my old Scout knife, worn around the edges, but sharp as ever. Next in the tie would be my Old Timer stockman. Its blades are a battleship gray from years of service, but it still is carried regularly.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Most used is the Meerkat. So convenient to carry, open and especially, close. Fits nice in watch pocket of jeans, low profile and holds a good edge.
