Multi-purpose big folder

#2

Post by JD Spydo »

The Spyderco Military model is the quintescential, all purpose folder of the entire knife world. I can't think of a production knife with a blade 3.5 to 4 inches long that can top the Military model.

It is truly the flagship, Golden CO Spyder.

I am disappointed however that it is no longer available in a full SE blade :(

I truly hope that the Military model will be a permanent fixture in the Spyderco line-up for years to come.

Hi Joe, the regular S30V Military is still available in full SpyderEdge

Only the sprint runs of the different steels/handles are PE only  . Maybe for the better because when they WOULD come in SE as well, my flock of Millies would be very close to Paul's flock of Kiwi's. :)

JD, If "W" had said this it would have made every evening news broadcast :D :D.... Too funny!

I agree with your sentiment though. Long live the Millie in a WIDE number of configurations.

Take care, my friend!

I couldn't agree more...I always seem to come back to one of my Millies as my #1 EDC choice. :)
I prefer to ask for forgiveness rather than permission.

I can. A manix or a Strider SNG. The Spyderco Military is truley sweet, but I think when each are put to torture tests, the military will fall way short.

I am a big Manix and Milli fan and tend to disagree that the Millie would fall way short if short at all under a torture test. The Military is a good solid knife especially the s90v :spyder:

Congratulations on the Military! A very nice piece. And, it has been put through a torture test and holds its own just fine.

Sorry but that is abuse, not use. There isn't a knife out there that I cannot break, if I really wanted to, but why?

Why would you need to put that much force on the lock and from the looks of it the knife did not fail as just the liner bent but still held the blade open.
The lock is only there to prevent accidental closing while in use,it is plenty strong enough for that.Putting 300 lbs on it is not what it was made for.

I would agree. If all of my folders were taken away except for one, I would keep one of my Millies.

Yes, it did. The information from the link described the **** the Military was put through by the reviewer and that the knife was still able to function safely for its intended purpose. That Military did not fail... it did not fall short of the still being able to lock up safely and cut.
