Got an e-mail from one of the vendors lists I am on......

"This item is scheduled to ship on 10-14-08"

For what its worth..........
I am actually surprised only a small portion has been shipped,
Seems like everyone here has 'em plus there are several daily on the bay as well.

I am not so sure about small portion. To the best of my knowledge the first batch hit stores in July, supposed to be 200 pieces every month, so about a half of the run is sold.
But the most important that you are getting at least one. :) It is very nice knife.

We are still waiting on Spyderco to fill our orders. You are near the front of the waiting list. As soon as they come in, we will process and email you, and ship the order.

After contacting a few of my distributors it doesn’t appear that we’ll be receiving any more Spyderco Lum shipments in. At this point we’re going to cancel any existing backorders as it doesn’t appear we’ll be receiving more. I’m very sorry we weren’t able to get enough of these in this time around, we’ll do our best to beef up our initial orders in the future.

Yeah I'm getting a bit fidgety now even though the 2 year wait was lengthy, this seems worse only because we know they are out there 'in the wild' but still can't get our grubby hands on one

I've got a few coming to me, just when is the question. Hopefully sometime soon cos I'm dying to add this one to my collection so I can give my photography a kick-start again. Also to get one into my pocket ASAP :D

The fact that there are only 1200 pcs further complicates.

We have sopken with Jean and Eli Lum regarding other models. We also have a larger and a a smaller Bob Lum designed prototypes that we're considering.
