Tasman question
Tasman question
I have a month and a half now with my Tasman. I love it and it never leaves my pocket. I use it to cut boxes and plastic wrap you use on loaded pallets. When I first took it out of the box I noticed it had slight side to side play with the blade. After using it it seems to be getting worse. Is there a way to fix this myself or would I just send it to Spyderco for repair? I would rather do it myself if possible cause I feel naked with out her in my pocket.
I searched and found that lightly hitting the rivit with a hammer would fix it. I dont want to risk messing it up, so if there is another way please let me know. Thanks.

Hitting it with a hammer can mess it up by making the pivot too tight to be operable.
A good way to do it is to put a razor blade inside the pivot before tapping with the hammer (very gently), and checking often to make sure you didn't go to far.
Of course, you could always send it to Spyderco since it's probably under warranty.

First they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not stand up, because I was not a Trade Unionist.

I think thats the best thing to do. I know this is a silly question but what is the process, shipping address, return shipping etc.... Thanks.TazKristi wrote:Panch0,
I know it would be hard to separate you from your Tasman, but it would probably be best to send it in to us. W&R will take good care of it for you and get back in good working order as soon as possible. :)

Frank,
It's not a silly question, if you knew, you wouldn't ask.
Send it to...
Spyderco W&R
820 Spyderco Way
Golden, CO 80403
Be sure to include a note that states what is wrong as well as all of your contact information. It's recommended to send it via a method that is trackable.
It'll be in good hands, promise.
