Vesuvious
Medic2110,
Your right, the Vesuvius is a great knife. It's size is between the Delica and Endura. It has the Compression lock, dual steel liners, tip up/tip down, ATS-34 blade steel, open back for easy cleaning, plain edge or 50/50 and your choice of in-lay on the handle. The thumb rest behind the opening hole is grooved for traction. You can adjust the pivot for opening ease. Also the price is right. Just an overall nice knife. I've been carrying mine for awhile now(Picked it up in a trade). I enjoy it alot. It also serves as my "pajama" knife.
Spyderco makes so many great knives that some get lost in the shuffle. I hope there is alot of people carrying this knife or maybe recommending it to friends. Alot of non-knife people don't want to spend $120.00 for a knife, but for around $60.00 or so you can get a Vesuvius.

Don't be sad! It leaves time for anticipation to grow I think I might get two..one to auction off on Ebay once they become rare

One of my favorite Spydies ( outside my
"Cricket" ) is the "Vesuvius"; I got mine
with the abalone inlay. Problem was the "tip
up" carry didn't set to well with the
"compression lock" design ; The blade had a
tendency to work out of the handle if one
moved about rigorously. Sent it to Mike at
S.F.O. and had the clip re-positioned to "tip
down". Problem solved. Otherwise, a new
revolution in locking mechanisms.
All Hail !
Switchblades BAD, 's GOOD !

I own a 50/50 ed out version, and I absolutely love it!!! Opens smoother than silk, black ice, melting butter on a hot summer night! Nuts! I'm drooling on the keyboard. Beautiful knife in any case.
