Today it was a stressful day so I sticked to some classical music, mozart and others.

A little Marc Antoine and Chris Botti.

Buddy Guy is excellent. Freddie King and Albert Collins are also good.

Bought the new Weezer album over the weekend- I've been hearing tidbits on the radio and had to have it. It's excellent!! Looking forward to seeing Clutch this weekend in AC, and can't wait for the new Slipknot to come out.

Mark Knopfler's Shangri-La album is surprisingly good all the way around. I don't say that because I expected it to be lousy but because each time one of his tunes plays on my computer I always enjoy it.

I just picked up Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy the other day and I'm quite enjoying it. At first listen, I wasn't sure. It's definitely different than the older stuff but it's really growing on me. It has a lot of depth, and Axle Rose is in fine form. Maybe even better than he's ever been. The guy's range is amazing. I got a free Dr. Pepper with the album but I think a free can of malt liquor would have been more appropriate.

Teddy Thompson is really good. He has a great singing voice.

For that matter, yesterday I was listening to Richard Thompson's (Teddy's father) most recent album and really enjoying that.

I just got me a copy too...the more I listen to it the more it grows on me....the songwriting is in fine form....Axl Rose does GnR himself w/sideman, nearly equal to the task of the original GnR IMO...

Been listening to The Black Keys a lot lately. Also mixing in The Pixies, They Might Be Giants, and Rancid.

Tony - it's funny you mention hearing that song on Sons of Anarchy. Not necessarily something you'd normally be interested in but being exposed to it in the format of a TV show you like does have a different effect. I have a number of songs like that, mainly from The Shield. If I heard them on the radio I may not have paid them any mind. But since they were used on one of my favorite programs of all time, they're burned into my brain and I listen to them often.
