Frankenhand!!!

#1

Post by raven »

Hey All, Here's some pix of my hand as it is right now. WARNING ... this thing is really scary looking, so if you're a bit squeamish I don't suggest you look :o .

PT is going really good. I'm almost able to make a complete fist and I AM ABLE TO GRIP MY HANDLEBARS OF MY RACER AND SQUEEZE THE BRAKE LEVER :p  . That makes me EXTREMELY HAPPY!!! I have another PT session today at 1400 hrs and again on Thursday at 1530 hrs.

I refuse to stay down and be helpless. The doc said it would take approximately 6 to 8 months before I had full use of my hand ... WE'LL SEE ABOUT THAT!!! Don't get me wrong, I don't plan on hurrying the process or do anything I'm not supposed too ... I'm Just Extremely STUBBORN and don't like to be told what I can and can't do ;) . I'm just determined to use my hand ... NO MATTER HOW PAINFUL THIS PT IS!!!

Thanks for listening and I'll keep the "Family" updated as I go through the PT and as I progress. Take Good Care All and Be Safe Always.

God Bless :)

Cripes, you were extremely lucky Raven. Amazing it did not do more permanent damage.

****, where's the wound at?! I could barely see it! :D

Just kidding, bro' - heal quickly. Dude, when you mentioned that you're gripping up your bike, I smiled, shook my head, and said to myself, "He ain't gonna take this slow; the crazy bastard will be racing by next week!"

Hats off to you, Gil - you're a man of substance!

Wow. Glad you got through it with only that to show. Not to say that that isn't mighty impressive (re: quite major), but after seeing the photo of what you fell on, it could have been much worse than just your hand.
Hope the recovery keeps going well.

Glad to hear your progressing and recovering. A positive frame of mind will take you a long way and it seems like you're on the right track. You'll be back on the bike in no time.

Raven,

Wow man. I'm glad you're ok. I hope you gain full recovery of your hand. Looks like the docs did some excellent work. Glad you didn't lose your hand bro.

Wow! I don't think I would've wanted to see your hand the day you injured it. Of course, now you have something to do "show and tell" with to impress the ladies... kind of like that scene from Lethal Weapon 3 where Mel Gibson and Rene Russo were showing off their scars.

Glad to hear you can use that hand, Raven. Keep up with the physical therapy and take it easy. Hope your hand heals up quickly and fully.
