This reminds me of a story about an female NPR interviewer who was shocked learn that the Army would teach Boy Scouts how to shoot and asked the comander in charge if "he wasn't equiping the Scouts to be murderers"? He replied on camera asking "wasn't she equiped to be a prostitute because she was a woman"?

"Is that a weapon in your pocket??'
I am a student nurse and I have worked as a tech in the ER. From what I have seen, ERs are very secure places. The two hospitals that I have worked in have had armed guards and metal detectors, and not just for visitors. We see alot of nut bags in the ER packing things, and whereas I don't see all knives as weapons, I think that she was justified in her response. Anywho, glad to hear that you are back on the forums in good health!!!

Jazzman:Back in the days before 9-11 I saw more artillery & steel in the ER than at many
gun/knife shows & that was just the staff!*G*
At 1 ER I was shown the bullet holes in the wall from a past incident. At another 2 guys who'd been fighting were brought in seperately & placed on strecher with a curtain between the. When the doc started talking to #1 #2 heard & recognised the voice,whipped-out a pistol & fired thru the curtain.*sigh*Ah;the old days of Dodge City*G*.

When I was in the ER earlier this year they saw my fully serrated Endura, said I had to leave it outside. I said Okay and took it outside, put it into the car. They didn't ask me about other weapons like my Glock 30 or my <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> Massad Ayoob, both well hidden.
