After reading through this thread, I feel relieved knowing that I am not alone in my dislike for foliage green.

I like the FG G10's but surprisingly have found myself not carrying ANY of them...so secretly maybe I do not like them as much as I reckon !

I think possibly funkier colours of G10 should be reserved for use in small amounts on LBKs ?

I wouldn't mind a FG Ladybug....

I guess the one that was the most pleasant surprise was the Adventura. I was always struck by its looks but wasn't sure if I'd be keen on the handle and the blade profile for actual use. I decided to get one on a trade offer and just loved it once I got it. So slim and easy to carry, light and smooth but still very solid. The design is more interesting and impressive to me in person than it had been in pictures.

when I got the Endura,
I was really excited, I special ordered it
thinking it would be the perfect knife.
my "dealer" warned me it was quite big,
so he also got the delica for me,
I bought both, and I love the Delica,
eventually gave the Endura away.

some negatives... breaking the tip off my manix -- ouch. getting a full sized caly (TWICE!) and going "man -- who am i kidding... i'm never going to have the guys to carry this!!!" ZDP D4 -- loved it at first, until experiencing chipping...

some unexpectedly huge positives... scorpius, tenacious, R2, g10 cara cara, wings, dragonfly, police, military, salt series, dodo...

If i haven't liked them out of the box, they've grown on me.

Except for one. I fiind the Volpe's handle somewhat uncomfortable, and a little tricky to grip. Particularly when trying to unlock it. The frustration with the handle is made worse by the fact that the blade itself is rather functional.

Disappointments:

Endura 4/SE, I can't seem to get a comfortable grip on the thing  :(

Delica 4/SE. I just miss the sharp tip. Ergo's are different for me comparing to the D3. Not worse, just different.

Surprising:

SS Cricket/SE. I bought one out of curiosity and to have a small non theatening knife. But man, can that little bugger cut

Delica 3/SE. This is just the knife I see as my trusty old friend. I just love the thing. Despite the fact it just barely fits my big mitt, I would'nt like to go without one. This is just an honest knife: sharp serrated blade, nice tip and no bells and whistles  :D

G10 S30V Millitary/SE. Need I say more? ;)

My most surprising would have to be my mini manix. When I ordered it I thought it would be too big and heavy to edc. However, I love it and it has become my primary edc.

My most disapointing would have to be my captain. I like the design, but the liner lock is too hard to operate. Nothing against liner locks, but the one on the captain is too hard to disengage.

most surprising
dodo, thought that i would never buy this ugly knife until two weeks ago
think that i would never leave this cute knife since then
military, i didn't expect any knife to be this sharp
stretch II CF, i love the pattern of the CF handle
most disappointing
ocelot, i love it, but it doesn't seem to be as sharp as my other spydies
spin, a bit too cute, too small

I like others put off buying the Yojimbo because of the odd look I wouldn't even hold it in my hand, but once takin for a test drive I was hooked....biggest disappointment was the "SPIN" IMHO it's a piece of Junk.... Spyderco should have never made it...it is not worthy to wear the Spyderco logo...considering all the other models I own with a hole, One out of a hundred disappointments is a pretty good track record if you ask me....Doc :D

I forgot to mention my most surprising Spydie

The Kopa series - quality like handmade, but still a production knife. Reflects the form follows function slogan and adds elegancy.

At a second thought I've to add that indeed the most surprising Spydie was the first one I saw in my life, it was a Military and I have had to ask for the purpose of the big hole in the blade :o ; I was impressed by the ingeniousness and since then I give the answers :D

:spyder: :spyder:  :spyder: :spyder: I would say the Assist was, not really dissapointing, but looked a little lacking for my tastes :o But, after going back to look at it, and read about it, I decided to buy it simpley because it was a Spyderco Then....It came  No more Dissapointments...It is an Amazing knife that I wouldn't leave home without, if I were going camping, hiking, or anything away from home.

The one knife I was, and still am a bit....uninterested in is the Bryd knives; I don't mean any disrespect to anyone here, or the Spyderco crew, or anyone else!! This is only my honest, and humble opinion....I prefer a knife that is 100% Spyderco; I don't care for the "Byrdeye hole"...I prefer the round Spyderhole; And, though I have had no experience in 8Cr13MOV, or N690co, I would also prefer Spydersteels like VG-10, ZDP-189, CPM-S30V, and H1, etc. I have heard nothing but Great, and Positive remarks, and opinions on these Byrds, and steels they use, but still don't own one :o Again, I mean no disrespect to anyone, or the skills, and choices of Sal, and his team :spyder: Spyderco is the Best....Just being honest :D

Biggest Surprise:

Spin- I feel like it is very important to the Spyderco line. Not only does it perform great and look great, it's one of the only knives in the line that looks completely harmless, unisex, and yet elegant. FFG, VG10, Modified Wharnie, Etched Scales, Great Grip, Screw Construction...I use mine a lot and I enjoy everything from the grip to the blade. It's like a baby Yojimbo. There is nothing better for cutting detail work.

Biggest Disappointment:

Delica 4- It's a shame because I love the ergos, size, clip, and weight. But I just plain hate the blade. I could never get it as sharp as I like, and I need a good tip on all of my knives. Perhaps the G-10 D4 blade has fixed these problems, but I'd like to see that blade in the FRN versions.

When I joined the forums everybody and I mean everybody loved the Starmate, well I got me a Starmate and hated it from the first second my hand hit the handle. hated is probably not the right word, despised is better. I"m also disappointed in the almost complete lack of new SE knives.

Ouch Dr. Snubnose, that's pretty harsh eh? ;)
hey, to be honest I still prefer my SS Cricket to the Spin....but I can empathize(?) with your displeasure with the Spin, especially in a self-defense scenario or in a meat cutting test vs. the Yojimbo or Ronin  :p :D

Wow! Even our forum's esteemed Doc S thought the Yo looked odd at first? This is truly surprising! ;) :D

Most disapointing for sure the ocelot, I loved the Wegner and thought that the ocelot would be just the ticket but the little paw prints are just too much. and i am sure would just get filled up with blood, fat, grime etc.
