Endura4 with Sal's signature?

#1

Post by Ann »

Today, I catch one more :spyder: Endura4 for my little collection

It's ordinary Endura 4 with VG-10 and black FRN handle, but with signature "Sal Glesser" on blade. Like an inscription on painting :D

What's this? Special issue or new look of Endura?

I catch it in knife-shop in Moscow, Russia :) Not ordered, just bought in real off-line shop. But the knife is new, box marked JG = 2007, october.

Wow! First time I've ever seen that. Very unusual, at least here State-side. Wonder if that variant is gonna make its rounds here?

привет!
очень интересно...Я тоже хотел бы знать историю этого ножа

Translation of my bad Russian :p :
Hey,
Very interesting...I would also like to know the history of that knife.

I don't get to practice Russian online very often. I should go to those Roosky forums :D

Я может быть ошибаюсь, но подозреваю, что это "Сделано в Одессе на Деребасовской", подпись как минимум.

I can be wrong, but I suspect that this is "Made in Odessa", if not a knife, than at least a signature. Local customization, improvement to design.
(Odessa used to be a counterfeit’s Capital of Russia)

Assuming it is Sal's signature, or not, it could easily be added in an aftermarket fashion.

This :spyder: Enduras with signature came from authorized :spyder: dealer. About one hundred selling on different knife shops, and overs. It costs about $10 higher price than ordinary one. (Endura 4 black FRN handle plain edge costs in Russia about $100 :( , with signature about $110 :( But most of my ~50 Spyderco knives was bought on newgraham or knifeworks :D )

There is one version, that this signed Enduras came from Shot Show, February 2008. May it be?

This is legitimate. It was an exclusive that we engraved for a Distributor in Russia.
