Do I see a Persian with #117 ;)
Escuse my ignorence, but what is the significance of #117? I have the same number on my pink Endura, and puzzle over it.

It is the collectors club number.

The Deacon has a fine site worth looking at where the CC-#'s are explained:

Just click at "Spyderco Collecting FAQ" on the left side and follow the link

It is a long story...
In short collectors club #117 at some point belonged to a famous knife maker. I do not know who is owner of #117 now.

Gotta say, I have learned alot watching you guys here on the forum compose, and shoot your Spydies :)

Again, great shots,

If I do, I apologize, otherwise please take some and share them with all of us :D

Kris is finally here!
My Schempp family is complete! For now.
I would not choose Kris over any of the Persians for household chores, but it feels as comfortable as all other Ed's designs. And it looks great to me.
Mr. Schempp, if you read this many thanks from one of your fans!

Beautiful pictures WhyNot. I love granite. You have very good looking family here. I hope we will have some additions in 2008 :p
I am little disapointed with FG G10 instead of micarta. :( :o
Congratulations on Kris. Family is complete for now, unless you want to get C83 with bug, C105 with gold bug, and C104 with gold bug :D :D
With Spyderco is always something. :)

Schempp family look great, as always. :p :p :p
6" of snow at this time of the year, is it in Alaska? It must be very cold to take pictures outside. What do you think about orange on the bark?
You welcome to move to sunny New England :D :D :D
I will help you to unload the truck(with knives).

Thank you, guys for your kind comments!

I guess it's time for new post...
This one is very special, well traveled Spyder.
I was looking for Native with root beer inlay for quite some time and thanks to Dan I got it from Australia. It came alone with a beautiful little fob which was exactly what my Jester needed. Once again, Thank you Dan!
Taking pictures of the Native was kind of challenging, because of the nature of root beer inlay. It looks very different when you slightly change the light or look at it at a different angle. For the first time ever I ended up using flash photographing knives. Here are some shots.

Dressed up Jester.

Hey WhyNot :p

The Root Beer is very tasty. I remember slurping on one from way back when I was a little kid. A perculiar taste but strangely addictive in a medicinal sorta way :) But I digress ....

As I mentioned the Root Beer is one of the most chameleon-like knives I have ever had the opportunity to own. It goes from dark dark brown (almost black) to a golden honey colour that is oh so sweet :) .

Try photographin it in full sunlight or diffused light.... you'll love the results ;)

Great photos again mate
Dan

Nice patterns in that inlay! That flash certainly did the trick of highlighting those swirls.
