Flat Iron Folder
Dear fellow Spydernuts,
I came across this knife on the "discontinued" section of Spyderco's website many moons ago. Never seemed to find this rarity over this part of the world. For those who had owned and used this excellent knife, would you care to share your experience on the flat iron?

quote:
...a Flat Iron folder. Its handle is zytel and it strongly resembles the old Rescue handle before they got the metal clips. The blade is a large (3.5" spearpoint with a combo edge. The steel is ATS 55...
These were sold as Ironstone Distinctive Bladeware exclusives. Ironstone has changed to Spyderco Factory Outlet...Looks to be an excellent utility knife.

quote:
The "Flat Iron Folder" was the mating of a drop point blade with the original FRN "Rescue" handle. It was originally made as an exclusive model for another company and was dubbed the "Snake River Folder". The other company ran into some problems so the model was changed to the Flat Iron Folder and sold as an exclusive through Ironstone Mail order. When Ironstone Mail order shut down. the balance of the pieces were being closed out through the SFO store. I don't know current status as to whether or not we have any left.
