Piet.S wrote:They are very social and friendly Arend.
They tend to be shy about things and situations they dont know.
A good socialisation as a pup is importent for this reason.
Inteligent too.
They dont try, they observe.
And just out of nothing they figured out how to open the breadcase and steal the contends.
Thank goodness the fridge is still safe.
Very good communicators, ears, tail, face, posture, position, everything is used constantly.
Some may be prone to break out but we never had that problem.
When taken for a walk at a place where dogs are allowed free they will never leave you as you are a leading member of their pack.
Every time and again they come checking where you are.

A lot of info can be found here, ( Dutch only, I'm sorry).

And yes, they can howl.
Ours do every Sundaymorning to the churchbells.

Most dogs strike me as dumb and out of control (I am not a dog person :p ) but I am really digging that wolfy dog.

Thanks for the pics!

Water and mud aint all that bad.

Doggie perfume is.
Rolling over a dead fish that has been lying on a bank for over a week tops it all.

This is Oliver. He's a rescue we got in early December as a Christmas present to ourselves. He's between 6 and 8 months in the pictures.

Well, our best guess is American Bulldog x American Pit Bull. Both of them were adopted through Pit Bull Rescue Central and the big guy was an adult when we got him. Dogos are much rangier than that monster. He's usually right around 86# and has a 23" head but is pretty short and very stocky. Very serious dog when he needs to be, but mostly, he's a total mush. Too often, he thinks he's a lap dog. The little red runt, on the other hand thinks she's the biggest dog on the block!

To everyone reading this thread - if you're in the market for a dog, please try and adopt one from a shelter or rescue organization. There are so many great dogs out there who need good, loving, forever homes. I think many who have adopted dogs will agree with me that they seem to really understand and appreciate the fact that they have gotten a second chance.

OK, I'm off my soapbox now. :)

Good you mention the subject, and you are right.
Muis and Twister are rescues.
They are as good as any other dog.

Have you had any problems w/ these cute lil' guys?

the wife and I are talking about getting a pup. I've been wanting one for years now, but just never put the money towards it.
I've been looking at Pugs b/c she wants an inside/lap dog and I hate mini-schuazers(sp?) . I don't want a dog that has to be groomed and barks at everything. So, we've talked about pugs and Jack Russels, but the JR's are 100% energy and we aren't home enough I don't think.

These pics are great!! I can't wait to get a puppy and post up some pictures.(just got a powershot g9)
