Cold Steel Ti-Lite
Hey guys I was thinking of getting one of these knives, I watched some reviews on them and they seem very tough and dependable.. Just wanted to get your opinions on them.... I know some folks do not like Lynn Thompson..But this knife seems like a real keeper... :spyder:

I cant help either.
I agree this forum section is to discuss Spyderco's products and history & the off -topic forum section is if your topic has nothing to do with Spyderco, you can post it there.

cold steel's cheaper machetes (have a panga and a kukhri) are a pretty good deal for the money... but then, they aren't a whole lot of money. still, worth getting, and a cut above walmart's offerings. the bushman is pretty great, as well, for a beater. no experience with the tri-lite, but i'm not really interested in it. or any of their other knives for that matter. not to my taste... and even the pricier models don't deliver the performance, quality, materials, and designs that suit my tastes. plus, they're a little low on originality at times.
but like everyone else has said --this is better suited to off topic.

Eaaasy My Knifebros, I'm sure it was an HONEST MISTAKE (We All Make Em). Let's not get to upset just yet and give him a chance. I know we're all Protective of Our Beloved Spyderco
. Apparently our Bro Spyderskin is just a knifenut like we all are and not just for Spyderco in general. If you've seen his pic on the "Let's see your face" thread, he is posed with two Ka-Bars. Again, let's give him a chance :) . Take Good Care All and Be Safe Always.
God Bless :)

I've tried out a whole bunch of Cold Steel products and didn't like them that much, the once exception being the Arc Angel balisong (now discontinued).
What about the Ti-Lite appeals to you? We could probably direct you to something that hits the same sweet spots, only better (and probably cheaper for what you get).

Wow
My friends, sorry to have offended any of you with this topic...It was a simple mistake, and I agree it should be in off-topic, but I clicked the wrong forum..Forgive me.. I love spyderco as well, and I have 4 of my own, some of you may have seen them.. I have posted them a couple of places.. I love spyderco, but there are other knives I like as well... I only have one other Cold Steel, and it's a stout knife.. I like SOG and Ka-Bar as well... I used to be into Bench-made, but I broke the tip off the one I have and it didn't take much stress to break it, so I'm pretty turned off with bench-made and their high prices for junk knives... I prefer thick, stout blades, thats one reason I'm drawn to spyderco so much... As far as the mili, the next spyderco I going to purchase is a para-military....Again I'm sorry for the mix up... :spyder:

I HAVE ONE, I HAVE ONE!!! I got the 4-inch zytel one and i love it. It's not Spyderco so I very rarely carry it but it's a lot of fun to play with. The finger guard thing can be used as a wave opener and with practice and the right angle the thumb hole can be used to flick it open. it's overall a really godo combat knife and it's fun to mess around with. Also, another feature that i didnt notice before is that on teh swedge grind on the back it is smoothed onto the rest of teh blade. I don't really know how to explain it other than saying that there is no "shelf" where the swedge grind ends. That makes it really good at stabbing. It also has liners which I wasn't expecting. I think the Zytel version is one of teh best non-Spyderco deals out there. It is realyl solid, cheap, and shaving sharp. If you have $40 lying around and the oportunity I highly reccomend picking one up, you won;t be disappointed :D

It's definately a good knife. I definately endorse teh idea of getting one. Personally, I don't like buying a knife that I can't carry, which is why I bought the smaller one but the bigger one would make a sweeter close impact tool. Get it, you'll love it. And if you don't then I'll just have to take it off your hands :)

My friend picked up a Xytel Ti-lite and I had the chance to play with it pretty extensively. I wasn't very impressed. I felt that F&F was lacking, as there were several sharp points on the knife (besides the edge itself) that irritated my hands and the liner lock had very little purchase for the thumb to unlock it. To CS's credit, it did seem solidly built and reasonably dependable. For the price, however, I'd rather pick up another Delica (or the new Tenacious!) or put my money towards a nicer Spyderco. If you're really stuck on the stilleto look, the other company that shan't be mentioned offers a pretty nice one by the designation "530."

Hey, no problem. It's an easy mistake to make. I was merely pointing out that it should have been in the other forum, and not trying to 'flame' you. I think it is great to like other knife companies as well as Spyderco.spyderskin wrote:My friends, sorry to have offended any of you with this topic...It was a simple mistake, and I agree it should be in off-topic, but I clicked the wrong forum..Forgive me..
