Hello!
As my problem/question is similar in nature, and involves Spyderco SCFB18P Woodlander knife, I decided not to create new thread.
A while ago our forums Test Fund decided to test this nice medium-sized fixed blade (whole text in Polish, pictures and videos are included) :

Then, after passing it over our members, the knife landed on my shelf.
I used it a little, and after last camping I decied to refresh it. The process involved unscrewing the handles - it took a few minutes, and was quite easy - good!
But the view at what was hidding behind them disturber me a little:
After unscrewing - notice micarta dust in sockets :
Some rust near brass (?) pins
Uneven finish of the other side:
Well - I do like my Woodlander, but I'm surprised with a few detalis in $320 knife:
- micarta dust
in screws sockets and inside the handles
- rust under the handles - especially
near the pins
- not so perfect finish of the steel
Rust was most disturbing - looking at it's location, I'd say it may be induced with electrogalvanic corrosion - take steel, brass, and some moisture (yes, this knife was USED :D ) then some rust will appear.
Maybe using some stainless steel pins would be a better idea ?
What about custom Hossoms, Jerry ?
Anyway - I'm just going to the kitchen to clean it and make it look like new.
Do you guys used your “Hossoms” a little ?
