Tony,

Please check up on me as well, cos I made myself that promise a few weeks ago..... now.....mmmmm I dunno so much now. I bought 50+ last year. This year looks to be quite damaging unless I get rid of some of my collection to fund the new models  :(

I think just 2:

Mariner and Tenacious/SE

However I read a comment of Sal on Britsh Blades that there might be a Sheepfoot Urban that's going to be in full SE. In that case there will be 4(at least 2 of those Urbans)

MEMBER OF THE INTERNATIONAL ORDER OF THE SPYDEREDGE!!!

VERY PROUD OWNER OF A CALY III/SE #043 :D

....AND A FG(PARA) MILITARY/SE IN CPMD2(thanx Sal)

...I would love to have one in full SpyderEdge:p

Wings & White Dragonfly (please: serrated / VG10 / screw clip)

I wanna see the Sage and Embassy models - both sound smallish and classy.

and... does the Rock Salt remind anyone else of Squall's gunblade?

Warning to all dialupers (not to be confused with upers)

#47

Post by Slick »

The down load .pdf is LARGE. There should be a dial-up warning. I finally got the catalog but it took forever. Pretty and shiney but a burden for dial up folks.

Add a dialup alert so I can guess at my phone busy time.

Great catalog BTW.
Not really all that slick ;)

Don't you think the 17.8 MB file size, which is listed on the download page, would be all most folks would need to figure that out? Know it would have been a red flag for me back in my dial-up days. OTOH, they could create a .ZIP of it. I did one, just to see how well it would compress. It shrunk down to about 9.6 MB, so it would cut the D/L time darn near in half.

2008 Catalog...not much for Bolster

#54

Post by Bolster »

OK, I'm late to the game, I just studied the 2008 catalog. Clearly Spyderco did not design their new lineup for me.

The ONLY new blade that gets my juices flowing is the Stretch II. The other neat product is that nifty new military-style cap.

Otherwise I will be mostly sitting this year out, mourning the loss of the Manix, the large Persian, the Kris, etc, and worrying about the introduction of Chinese models in the lineup.

I suppose I should change my sig line...
