What about one run with no clip pad and no clip?...

yes, pretty please... wow, now i'll be able to fondle both scales equally ... :p
Wow, sort of deja vu because earlier today I was contemplating "spacking" the clip "divot" with some raycrete :)
I'd much rather go this route than to have one with a removable clip pad....
same goes for an Frn version, my 2cents is that it might "go against the grain" for such a classy upscale gent's/lady's folder like the Kopa ...

Sal, you da man !

A removeable clip would be my preference if your designers can come up with a nice design that would leave less of a divot than the current clip. Having said that I think the clip is one of the classiest ones on any Spydie.

I would certainly go for a nice clipless Kopa.

Can I ask for a dentless one as well. I believe I will get some support for this.

As for FRN Kopa !!!!! :O NO WAY ! I think that would definitely go against the whole premise of the Kopa design. A nice rounded Stainless Steel version with or without clip would be nice. I like the looks of the SS Kiwi and I think a SS Kopa counterpart would be very much appreciated. The SS Kopa would certainly be able to then take on engraving and gifted to many non Spyderco ppls.

As for other inlays for a 'special' on an already limited run of Kopas.....I think Paul would be more than capable of advising on a really classy material. I love the Kopas but their affordability is one of their weaknesses. I know, I know, it is supposed to be a sprint of 600 each time and making it 'cheaper' might only make it less special.

Anyway, I for one would be interested in a mid-run Kopa upgrade, as long as it doesn't ruin your overall vision of the Kopa when you first saw it in your minds eye.

Cheers

Absolutely yes for a clipless Kopa. Personally, I prefer Quince or Kokobolo.

Absolutely no for the FRN. I love fibre reinforced nylon for work knives and most any EDC, but not for this small gentleman's folder.

Thank-you, Sal, for asking.

I don't have my camera right now. It appears smooth with no glue residue at all. The scales are just kind of bowed out and the bolsters are still holding it in place. We all know that :spyder: will make it right.

Well said from an Australian and as an Austrian I'll echo it ;)

Kopa design with bolsters and FRN = :o

Another example Sal: Lotus Elise with a trailer on the draw-bar = :o

Both are useful but ... :o

Ok, now I stop, you get my idea :D

Clip pad? Why a clip pad? Haven't you guys ever heard of Bondo? Mix it up and gloop it on then sand it smooth and no one will ever suspect. Works on rust buckets with newbies...

A lefty Kopa is a wonderful idea. I don't know how many lefties we have but I bet alot of righties (me-me-me) would jump at a weak side 'nice' knife.

As for the FRN option, all FRN looks like FRN. Could something be done to make a special run of FRN really special? Black FRN with gold flakes ala synthetic gold stone? Maybe a texturing material like pumice in the mix to add grip and destroy dress pants?

I am done for now.
Not really all that slick ;)

Lefty side YES. Clipless YES YES YES.
FRN? IF it cost 50 bucks but otherwise why.
Follow the mushin, but pay it no heed.
