Either way, zipper or pullover, I'm in for a couple.

I think the special pockets a cool idea BUT....they would be harder to make this hoodie idea into a reality.

Would you be willing to pay more than the standard $50 most logo hoodies are sold for? I would, maybe $60-$65 would be my maxx for the extra pockets. Its a great innovative idea, but I wouldn't mind if they did not have them.

With all these high tec people round here I bet we could get a vector based file going for the printers. :D The Logos, and Lettering. It would be one step closer to be coming a reality.

Also, we would need flex fit hats to match.................. :D

Next time you have hats embroidered, ask if they can use flex fit caps. I pay around $25-$30 for logo flex fit hats. They look like a fitted hat but fit lots of different sizes. More on flex fit hats, click me

Flat ground/saber ground/hollow ground?
PE/CE/SE?
VG-10/S30V/H1/ZDP189/CPM-D2?
SS/FRN/G-10/CF?
Zippered/pullover?

So many choices!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the input and ideas, I would take one myself but... there are no plans for Spyderco outerwear at this time. We do have 2 new tee-shirts (one Spyderco one byrd) and a hat design coming for 2008. We've not had remarkable luck with Spyderco clothing over the years and decided to stick to making knives instead. ;)

I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but...

Am I the only one who thinks that this is a little pathetic?

Mr. Glesser, et al. are quite gracious in listening to our requests for knife modifications, designs, and variations, but this is a little far-fetched. Granted, most knife companies do offer something along these lines, but let's save our requests for the things that Spyderco is known for designing to request - knives.

On a side note, if the folks at Spyderco would like to do something in response to this request, why not just prepare an embroidered patch? Everyone can put it on their hoodie, pull-over, jacket, sweat shirt of choice.

"pathetic" seems a bit harsh. Everyone is just expressing what they like and hoping.

How about a Spyderco forum only hoodie with pre-orders? I have a friend who works at Jakprints, a screenprinter here in Cleveland. I think it could be done relatively inexpensively even on a fairly small scale.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

Actually, I agree with Jag-Engr, so that makes more than one. Joyce has already said that it is not going to happen. Beating a dead horse is beating a dead horse--it still isn't going to wake up. I talked about clothing with some members of the Spydercrew in October, when I was at a law enforcement expo which Spyderco attended. I asked about new polo shirts. I was told then that, due to storage concerns, Sal's desires, and the fact that T-shirts and hats seem to be most of what is actually purchased in the clothing line, the polos were not going to be made anymore. As Joyce said in her post, it is pretty much going to be T-shirts and hats. Would I like to have more polos and maybe even a hooded sweatshirt?--sure. Would I rather, if Spyderco has limited space to store items for sale, that they store lots of nice new knives rather than a few sweatshirts?--abso-freakin'-lutely.

This is kind of like the forum knife issue--express your desires, and, when told that it is not going to happen, leave it alone. The Spydercrew do a great job making great knives and supplying outstanding customer service. Everything else is icing on the cake. Give it some time, be content with the cake itself for awhile, and then express your interest again and maybe something will happen. It is not going to happen now--and with Kristi's schedule, there is not going to be a forum sweatshirt, just as there is not going to be a forum knife, this year. I think most people here, if given the choice, would pick a forum knife over a forum shirt, as this is the Spyderco Forum, not the Tommy Hilfiger Forum. As for doing "our own" shirts--count me out. I don't want anything to do with using someone's intellectual property without them being compensated, and any such shirt is as much a "Spyderco" product as would be the Chinese copies of the Gunting that are for sale out there.

Smile when you say that, Pilgrim :D

Free speech is great. Going into a vegetarian restaurant and ordering roast beef, and then continuing to discuss roast beef and how you want to order it once they tell you it is not on the menu is just silly. You can talk all you want, but you still aren't going to be eating any dead cow in that restaurant.

Personally, I am not in favor of advertising that I might be carrying a knife. I bought a hat once with the logo of one of my favorite handgun manufacturers on it. It doesn't get much use.
