I just bought a civilian and the enclosed literature mentioned a video about the uses of the civilian. Does anyone know where I can get this video? Has anyone ever heard of the video?

i've heard about it too, don't know where to get one but if anyone does know, do they also know of somewhere i can get it in the UK?

The hardest thing my civilian has been through is a shop towel rubbing it with gun oil. So I can't say for sure about the strength. However, the literature does say: "The ultra-fine tip is much stronger than it appears. The knife is guaranteed against defects as all Spyderco knives are, but it is not guaranteed against abuse."
The tip of the Civillian was designed (like the rest of the knife) to cut cloth and meat only, and nothing else. To acomplish this the tip is very thin as well as very sharp.
If you use it to cut materials other than those it was desined for, you are in breach of warrenty.
As the included warrenty points out, this is a very specialist knife, for a very specialist purpose. It is not a general utility knife.
That said it is an excellent knife. I have one in my collection, but it is the only one that is not in my carry rotation.
I also have an Endura that I have been carrying for about a year. Do you think it's a better idea to carry the Endura than to carry the Civilian? I don't really expect to be needing to cut cloth or flesh in the near future, but you never know.
I just finished watching the video. While it was a little rough for my taste (thank God my girlfriend wasn't here) I learned some very valueable things. They talk about different ways of opening the knife, and how to keep from hurting yourself with it. They also show you how to handle many different situations. I highly recommend this video to anyone who owns a Civilian. Thank you for all of your help.
