Romanian WASR rifle

Sometime in the future....

...I hope to latch on to one of these. Don't under estimate the .22lr ;
use CCI stinger or Remington vipers and at urban ranges ( 50-100 ft )
the .22lr will still kill ( or severely wound ) any ne'er do well.

Explore this site some more. They have alot of pretty good deals, mostly
in AK-type rifles. The only other would be Century International Arms.

.22 certainly is an interesting caliber. Super cheap, common, easy to carry/small, but capable of sufficient damage. I've been considering what to chose as my first pistol when I turn 21 (a whole year from now :( ) and its very likely going to be a .22. In the mean time I may pick up .22 rifle/carbine.

I almost bought my Beretta cx4 from impactguns. I have not had any experience buying from them, but it does look like a good site.

Just last night I had the opportunity to fire a bunch of rounds through the Beretta U22 Neos (with scope) and both the 4" and 5.5" Ruger 22/45 bull barrel .22 pistols (as well as an 9mm HK USP). What fun! I could imagine leaving a large pile of spent casings in an afternoon with the .22s. Effortless to shoot, no fatigue and quite inexpensive vs. the centrefires.

I've had tons of experience with rifles, but the noise from the .22 pistol was surprising at first. Granted, being indoors probably had something to do with it, too.

How about the one favored by the mossad? ( Israeli secret service )

http://www.saarms.it/img/Beretta70/Beretta70.jpg

Or, the CIA?

The latter is the MKII / 45. The CIA used the original MKII design.

Or check out the shooters arms X-9 pistol ( second item down this page ) -

The Ruger Mk2 is actually the gun I was planning to get, but I do like Beretta and hold the Israeli armed forces in high regards. Thanks for the suggestions Allen/deeker :)

If you check around on gun forums, there is a raging debate between mkII/mkIIIers and the browning buckmark fans. I got a buckmark because I liked it a little better when I held it, but its all personal preference :D . The best solution is to buy both (all) the guns you like :) 22lr is an amazing invention! 500rd for $10 and just as or more accurate than a centerfire.
The sharper they are the less they hurt when you cut yourself. :spyder:

sadly, this is a "military only" firearm....

http://airbornecombatengineer.typepad.c ... onhold.jpg

...but that was said of assault rifles in the 1970s. By the mid 1980s, we
had stuff like this....

Today IMI ( I believe ) has the Tavor assault rifle...

Hi Allen, I used to fire a couple those when I was in the army. They are powerful (magnum 7.62 cartridges) and precise (they came with a decent sniperscope, made by the Romanian Optical Enterprises, which were good those days). Just like the AK47 they derive from, they also require little maintenance.
I'm not very sure it's the same thing with the one at impactguns though. IIRC, those we were using had longer barrels. But it was 20 years ago, so please bear with me :o

I'd take an AK47 over an M16 or a Galil anytime. However, when it comes to a Calico... ;)

The model in that link is .22lr. I agree on the Calico M-100. Quite a
piece of firearm! -

Thing is, most States in Our Blessed Union upheld the assault weapons
ban & don't allow for over 10 shots in a clip ( the north east is rife with
wannabe gangsters that shoot-up neighborhoods & kill each other ) so
we have such draconian laws to bring down the "body count(s)"! :D

I've read where Mr. Galil was told by one israeli soldier that the AK-47
was "...the tiger of the desert.." ( that was soldier of fortune
magazine sometime in the early 80s ) and he developed the Galil on
the AK system. I like the Romanian AMD -
