I love my police

Been playing with some different spydies recently. Lum tanto, Chinook, Calypso jr, starmate... I was really amazed by those knives, but as time goes by, again the ss police turns out to be the most perfect -- ultra slim design makes it easy to carry, amazing penetration ability, strong lockback... Thanks again to spyderco guys for this wonderful old design. I love my police!

The Police stands out for me too. I have the SS versions, both plain and serrated versions. I won't be buying any knives until at least well into next year, but when I do, the VG-10, plain-edge Police will probably be first in line. When I think of Spyderco, first thing to mind is the SS Police model. IMO, it's the flagship knife of Spyderco.

I too love my Police S/S S/E ! I saw Training Day when it first came out, I just happened to be carrying it that day. When they showed that scene I wanted to hold up my knife in the movie theater, but refrained from doing so for obvious reasons!
I'd have to give the Police model two thumbs up!
BTW... When it comes out in VG-10, like JamesY I'll be buying one P/E of course

I inhereted a Police SS from a friend who passed on. I have no use for this knife but I wore it EDC for sentimental reasons and because is seemed like a cool knife. "Too big and heavy" I thought. I forgot it was there, I could not believe how this knife simply floated in my pocket. I still have no use for this knife but bought a Spydie Calypso Jr. Micarta love it and even think of buying a Meerkat. I dont know why.

I fell in love with the G-10, flat-ground version of the Police. IMHO ~ This is one the most robust version ever made..

I like the smaller version, the Rookie.

The perfect Police model is mine: full serrated, titanium handle. At the time it was made, ATS 34 was still pretty exotic. I only wish I had bought two.

Its all fun and games til somebody loses an eye, then its fun and games you can't see.

Samo, Thank goodness someone agrees with me on the G-10 Flat Ground police!
I hope they do a run w/ the VG-10 Steel and Boye indent.

Perhaps the ATS-55 was the reason the Flat Grind was unpopular.

The Police turned out to be a classic design. Some of the variations like the Titan and G10 handles added different features. The VG-10 version should be out very soon.

Currently, I'm planning to make a short run (1200 pcs) of carbon fiber Police models with the same ratio as the Carbon fiber Civvies.

Sal,

I guess these Carbon Fibre Police models would have the new VG-10 blades, huh?

Stu,

I bought a Police SS Plain on Dec 21 on Ebay, and was very (nicely) surprised to see the one that was shipped had a VG-10 blade. It wasn't advertised as such, but I was sure glad to see it.

Thanks,
Dan
