You communicate with English MUCH better than I ever could in Dutch.

I'd like to learn Spanish, but I cannot roll my R's, no matter how hard I try. :o

I used to practice in public, but the stares were too much for me. :p
No need to be embarassed Axlis ;)

You'd be surprised how many Dutch folks(even some "higher placed" politicians) have trouble pronouncing the "th" in English.

They always tend to pronounce it as "t" or "z".

The word "That" soon becomes"Tat" or "Zat" :D

I spent a lot of time playing online games & learned to really hate l33t (leet=elite) speak. I could almost forgive it when it was someone who was in High School, but for someone who is in college or older it made me sad. When you are trying to get a intelligent message across and you ignore all rules of spelling & grammar, no matter how intelligent the message, you sound like a idiot. I do not apply this to people who are not speaking their main language.

That out of the way, welcome to the Spyderco forum.

Frankly, even if you like knives I don't think anyone's going to take you seriously with that "unique" form of the English language. So, in the case that you're sincere about posting here you may wish to change it. If you're not, I wish you wouldn't waste everyone's time.
:spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: I fixed it...Sorry dude, I am a serious person, and believe it or not, I have typing skills.

Without seeming too abrupt, I would like to ask that you use regular English from now on. I can’t spend five minuets de-coding everything you say.
What you have to say is good, it’s just hidden for the majority of people here.

Thanks.

Thanks Blades, much appreciated.

As for the topic of this thread. If I were to suggest a knife for rugged use it would be the SS ATR. The thick Compression lock can take a beating, is easy to clean, and the knife on the whole is very sturdy.

Blades I'll give you a real welcome now and say that a military with the full flat grind is a great choice for a servicemen or a leatheman, **** why not go with both.

I myself accept your apologies.

As far as what the original post asked, I believe that the Spyderco Military would be the common choice among the "men and women serving our country". It was designed for such use, and they were the intended market for the knife. Whether or not it is actually the most common pick, I am not sure, it definately isn't limited to that one knife.

I'll ask my brother in law, who is in Special Forces, what Spyderco's he carries and for what specific tasks he uses each for.
:spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: Thank you for the possitive feed back, and please give your brother-in-law a HUGE HE// YA!!!!!

:spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: What's up man?...Hey, I have 3 atr's, one with all black construction, with VG-10 blade steel, and one all stainless w/VG-10 blade steel, and, my favorite of the 3, the ti-atr w/ S30V pe blade steel! I know Spyderco doesn't make that model any more, so would you still use it?

Arend, don't forget that politicians are rarely educated in foreign languages. Law, economics and policy studies seem to be most prevalent. It takes many hours in language labs to properly learn how to pronounce sounds that simply do not exist in one's mother tongue.

As for Blaydz, he tried to be 'funny' with his netspeak on my site as well. So I'm happy he/she tries to be a constructive member now, but I'll remain a skeptic for now.

We all make mistakes. I make lots of 'em. I removed you from my ignore list now. Just be cool, relax, and post good stuff that is easy to read. ;)

Respectful posts will gain respect I imagine over time.
