Hey All, Anybody have some info on the MOD Hornet. I know it was designed by James Keating and that's about all I know about it   . It appears to be a well designed knife. Any and all info welcome. Thanks for listening and Take Good Care All.
God Bless :)

Hi Jeff. Is the Hornet better than the CQD? I don't have any of them, but the CQD seemed to me a very well thought knife as well.J Smith wrote:I have just about bought one a couple times.
The Only MOD I ever really liked. They are hard to find now though.

Thoughts...
My Dear Friend,
I personally won't carry one for SD purposes. YMMV.

I have owned a couple of Keating Hornets; overall the design of the knife is excellent and it is initially of very solid construction. The issues I have with it are 1). the unfortunate tendency for the knife to get loose very quickly under normal use, and 2). the tendency for the liner lock to fail the spine-whack test.raven wrote:Hey All, Anybody have some info on the MOD Hornet. Jim Keating's Hornet...
I had one of the old bead blasted versions of the Hornet and I never cared for it.
1) For the reasons that Dr. Lecter stated.
3) The grip shape worked well for me but the alum. frame felt slippery around the edges (except where there was jimping).
2) Personally did not care for the bead blasted finish. I never felt like I could get it clean after hard use, etc.
