C95 plain edge, the full size model.

I'm not going to review the design, I'm sure there's a hundred such reviews on the forum. I just want to post an appreciation of the high standards of quality control I see when I look at this knife. Fit and finish are perfect, from the g-10 to steel backspacer transition to the crisp workings of the lock. There's no blade play at all, side to side or up and down. This thing is tight! The blade is ground very well, evenly on both sides, and has perfect centering when closed. The finish of the blade is very nice, and out of the box, its wonderfully sharp, whiffing through a loosely held paper or shaving arm hair with no resistance at all.

Ok, design. :p Rock solid, fits my hand like a glove, very strong lock, blade cuts like my fine chef's knives while being thick and strong like a work knife. What a knife! Its going to be my EDC for a long time to come, I'm sure. It's also no where near as heavy as I expected, though it does carry sort of wide in your pocket.

And thanks to the knowledge base on this forum, too. I opened my Manix for the first time and saw this unique symbol on the blade, to me it looked like a handwritten W with an arrow on right side /. Was it a special edition? Did I win the golden ticket? One minute of searching this forum gave me the answer: it's the designer's symbol, and yes, its on all of them, I just never noticed it looking at pictures before. And since Eric designed it, its not a W either, its an E.

Eric: wonderful design, great knife, great build job by the company. Thanks for a great product. I'm sure I'll be back for more. :)

I also got a Manix recently, and agree with your assessment. It is Eric's masterpiece, IMO.

I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.

I handled a friend's Manix this evening, and was quite impressed with how well it fit my hand, and how solid it felt. I'd been wavering about whether to get one, but now it has moved to the top of my list.

The Manix designs are one of my all time favorites in all price ranges. Great choice.
Also "Kaizen1" on BF, "ignoramus" on CPF & EDCF. "kaizenrei" on KF, "Kaizen" on USN.

MC, I have a baby Manix that I've never used. It just sits in the safe, and I was wondering if you could tell me something about this knife that would coax me to put it in my rotation?
