BigKahunaSix is good people!

Hi all,

FYI, I also posted this on BF in the G,B&U section...

Just have to give a big thumbs up to Jim aka BigKahunaSix.

A few months ago I purchased a used, black G-10 SE Police from Jim - a knife I had been looking to pick up for a long time.

When I received it from Jim, I realized that the locking mechanism was pretty much toast (to the point where slight pressure on the spine of the blade made it fail) and it was fairly obvious that it had been a heavy user. I was disappointed as I was hoping for a Police in better condition but I didnt contact Jim to tell him this...

Instead, I sent it in to Spydie HQ hoping that they'd be able to restore it but no such luck. They sent it back saying that there was little they could do and that it was time to put it out to pasture

At this point I felt pretty upset about the transaction- so I emailed Jim (approx 3-4 months later) about what had happened. Jim immediately offered me a full refund and told me that he had received the Police in another transaction but had missed the knifes flaws.

I didnt really want the refund and instead sent the Police back to Jim for a replacement SE Paramil which I just received today. :D

Just want to say that BigKahunaSix stood behind the deal and made sure that I was satisfied despite the "caveat emptor" excuse that could have been used.

Thanks Jim!!!! You're a good man...

I have read this a couple of times today and well, I don't deserve the praise.

I screwed up by not checking out a trade knife thouroghly, not my normal habit. And all I wanted to do was make Eugene happy, satisfied and leave him not believing I was a complete idiot.

I thank you very much Eugene, for everything.

You can't catch everything BK6. I bought one like that for myself at a gunshow about 6 months ago. As much experience as I have buying and selling, I didn't catch it. It's what you did afterward that tells what kind of a person you are. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from you, or reccomend you to a friend. Joe

My Dear Jim,

Completely untrue; every word is well-deserved, and in fact falls short of painting a complete picture of you.

After several trades with BK6 I can attest that he is a consummate gentleman of honour. I have had the good fortune over the past several years to make a number of close, treasured friends on these forums, and while I cannot vouch for *his* feelings on the matter I feel very blessed to count Jim among those I call "friend".

Just want to add in my two cents as well...

I've traded with Jim several times over on BF, and Jim is a great guy.

Most people wouldn't have offered to trade back period, and yet Jim traded back 3-4 months later!

Sorry Jim, You do deserve the praise!!!!
