What is the point of this blade?

the Spyderco Civilian type blade. they look really cool. just wondering what the main reason for a blade of this shape is.


also, what knives come with blades similiar to this? can someone list them for me i may want to pick one up.

also it was designed for people w/o much self defense training. you use it to slash, not stab which is easier to do.

i wish they made one with a smaller blade, but i guess thatd defeat the purpose huh :p

like they said above...the matriarch is the civilians lil brother. you can still find them on ebay once in awhile.
