I once found a Delica at a garage sale....was the only Spyderco I ever found at a garage sale....It was in really bad shape....tip broken...the FRN looked like a truck ran it over (probably did) and the blade....not only duller than dull but it had so many scratches in it it looked like a satin finish....the lock up was good and there was no blade play (amazing) the FRN integral clip was so widened out it would never clip to any pocket cept for maybe a car visor....I offered the guy selling it one dollar he was thrilled....I dremeled a new tip and resharpened the serrated edge but I don't use the knife, just keep it around to show people how not to abuse a knife....it was a bargain all the same.....Doc :D

My only sweet deal came at the International Sportsman Expo. It was a new Catcherman for $25. He had some others as well for a very good price, but they had too much shelf wear to re-sell and none of them were something I was interested in as a user. Still, I was very happy with the Catcherman.

It was not a garage sale, but once they had a box of used knives at our local from someone who wanted to sell them. Most of the knives were really used, but there was a PE Spydercard inside, like new..
Later they decided to return the knives back to the owner and not sell them via their shop, but I managed to get a good price on the SC - 30 USD.
I still have it in my collection.

Picked up a early Delica for $2.00 at a gunshow last Friday night. (only Spyderco in the building).
Combo Edge, G2 blade, slim molded clip.
A little beat up, blade mostly centered and tight, dull as a butter knife.
I guess I'll be testing my novice sharpening skills when I get home from work in a couple of days.

A friend of mine has been hitting the garage sales for the last 35 years and does find many great knives and if there isn't any out he goes ahead and asks. "Do you have any knives", a lot of people won't put them out but do start thinking once he has asked and say "Come to think of it, I have my Dads or Grandpas knives" and will come out with something. A lot a lot of people will just give him a dirty/scared look and a NO! That is how we became friends, he asked me when I was having a garage sale and we ended up talking about knives. His greatest find is two, yes two, Scagels for $50! Out of the thousands of knives he has found at garage and estate sales, he has NEVER found a Spydie though! What rotten luck.
