At first it bothered me but then I realized. It is a TV show and he still does some pretty cool things. I figure personally I will still watch the show.

It is funny that people are so taken back by this show. It is t.v. I caught a couple of shows over the course of its inception. I laughed and watched just like I would a movie at the theater. It does not change anything, I am sure he will be thrust into the next great realm of stardom from this. The reality is his ratings and people believed you avoid an avalanche by running as fast as you can down a slope with no exercised common sense......ratings!LOL :D

There was another show similar to this one that didn't catch on it seems called "Survivor Man". I guess because it wasn't as sensational. As best as I can tell on Survivor Man he didn't have a film crew with him. He was always setting the one camera he had up places and sitting in front of it. I remember one bit where he was shown walking away from the camera in the middle of the night. The next shot after that was a rather funny one of him walking back to pick up the camera and this time walk away for real.

On Man vs Wild it was always quiet obvious he had a film crew with him... and he'd do retarded crap like brushing his teeth with a twig.

I like it, but then again I like me some nature television and he sets up some really nice quiet shots of the environments he's in. Granted I don't love it. I liked it better than Man vs Wild but that's not saying much. Short of Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, and Deadliest Catch there's not much on Discovery I actually enjoy watching. Most of their programming come off as silly to me and is often telling me things I already know or in some cases telling me things I'm pretty **** sure aren't true.

I've only seen Survivorman a few times, same with Man Vs Wild.

Survivorman is the real deal. Les Stroud does a good job.

Bear Grylls is a cool guy but his show is not realistic at all. He does lots of dangerous and risky things that you shouldn't do in a survival situation.

I've read about 10 things that are fake about Man vs. Wild. I've not read anything that has been fake about Survivorman.

Les Stroud (from Survivorman) has another show in the works right now. I already DVR (Digital Video Recorder) all of the Survivorman episodes. It's a great show.

i really like M v W. Bear makes an excellent host, and i enjoy the things he does on the show. while Survivor Man might be a bit more authentic (but when Bear eats frozen sheep eyeballs and drinks his own urine, i think people should take care in their criticisms) since Les has to do his own camera work the overall visuals in M v W are more appealing.

either way, i can enjoy both shows and i give both credit for doing things willingly that 95% or more of the population NEVER would!
