No plans for one with teeth.

As long as I have been wanting a Ti and G10 Spyderco CRK type framelock a wire clip would kill it for me.

I was lucky enough to find one Kevin Wilkins Lighweight Leafstorm in stock on his site when I visited it last so I quickly contaced him.

I took some photos of it & wanted to share them here with everyone because it is very similar to what Sal said the collaboration model will be the one I got is Ti with Olive Green G-11.

George,

That is a thing of beauty. Thanks for the great pics. Is it about the size of a Dragonfly or a little bigger or what? If you have it in you...some size comparison pics would be kick butt. :)

Hey David,

here are some quick pics of the Wilkins Leafstorm with some different model Spydies & since you asked first here it is first with your edc I believe.

I think of the knives I compared it to so far it is about the size of the Dodo & the Poliwog. I could go on & on but thats it for me right now I want to go play with my new knife.

I can only upload 10 images per post[/CENTER]

This Kevin Wilkins Lightweight Leafstorm is approx 6 1/8" long overall with a 2 1/2" blade & 3 5/8" closed length.

Great photos George !

Wanted to order a custom Wilkins blae last year, but he stopped taking orders (prolly to work on this collab). The Leafstorm looks to be a great little workhorse. Really love that translucent G11 too. I love his orange G10s as well.

I wonder if they will release a larger version, say with a 4" blade. With a santoku style blade it'd make a great camp knife. The Wilkins Large Ryback is actually something I was after (I know funny name......, but the blade was just about right to use as a GP cooks knife for travel)

Thanks for all the great photos. Looks like you got a great little knife.

I wonder whether Spyderco's version will be the lightweight version with G10 or an all stainless version. I'm hoping its the lightweight.

Dan- Have you seen the production version of the Ryback?

Hi Araneae,

Haven't seen that particular version. The one I was after was the Wilkins version ;) Thought the Cherusker's version is very neat too.

A bit nicer and with a round hole to boot :)

Jurphaas wrote:Hi all - Yes, this is a very promising little collaboration model. Kevin's Leafstorm model proved to be a very sturdy little EDC companion. I believe this model will be very popular in Europe!
Kevin is a very popular custom maker in Germany/Europe. According to the explanations on his website, he is no longer accepting custom orders. Instead he produces a batch of knives from the limited models he keeps in his line-up, and offers those for sale. First come, first serve.

From what I heard from Eric and Sal, the model will be USA-made in our Golden factory. The difference will probably be the pivot. Spyderco utilizes their own pivot and not recreate a pivot like Kevin uses on his custom pieces. Otherwise the knife will be very simular to the original. Like Sal said; CPM-S30V steel, Ti- frame, and translucent green/olive G-10 frontscale. Release; probably sometime next year. Start saving guys 'cause this is the ONE!
Jurphaas :)
I CANT WAIt. WOW, that knife is impressive. I have been waiting for a under 3" spyderco like that for a LONG time. I'm really excited! any new news on her?

...and it will be made in golden!

George, how is the closing ability on the knife with one hand? I remember I was disappointed with the ease of closing my $400 chris reeve sebenza... frame locks can be tough sometimes.

Also....according to this link here .... http://www.wilkins-knives.com/materials_e.html

It looks like your blade is "pale green" and not olive green? maybe I am mistaken
