I'm curious how many were made. Thanks!

The blue Delica 3 was not ZDP-189, and I don't know how many were made.
The blue D4 IS ZDP-189, and there were 1200 produced.
I don't believe in safe queens, only in pre-need replacements.

Some stores may still have the blue Delica 4 on the shelf. I have seen it when "window shopping".

My records indicate that Spyderco produced 500 pieces of the plain edge blue Delica 3 with a VG-10 blade. Prior to this run, Spyderco also made a blue Delica 3 with an ATS-55 blade steel. However, I do not know how many pieces were produced.

Do you know the year(s)? I'm all ears - thanks! :)

My records reflect 2002 for the VG-10 variation.

IIRC one could still get a blue D3 SE at John Jensen until a few months ago, so they can't be that rare. I've seen a few of them pop up now and again on the forums/egay for what I feel is a reasonable price.

I bet it wasn’t with a VG-10 blade.

My D3 in Blue is ATS-55. Have three of them. Always buy in 3's. 1 user, 1 back up and 1 for the collection.
