Back from Toronto, was considered a knife freak...

Hello SpydiePeople!

I am back from Toronto, wonderful city! I did leave my knives behind when I visited the CN Tower.

My brother-in-law considered me a freak for carrying so many knives but, oh well, we SpyderFolk can be misunderstood so easily.

Of course, my knives always came in handy when opening stuff and cutting aspirin pills in half.

Glad to be back, I will catch on in a couple of days.

Welcome back Kahz!

Spydie world was not the same without you!

Yes, Spydie people can easily be misunderstood. Oh well, I'll just smile every time someone asks for a knife and hand one of mine over.

If all goes well, someone might be seeing pink soon! *winks @ Kahz*

I'm on vacation this week so I'll only be checking the Forums & e-mail occasionally. Usually during the evenings or sporatically during the day. Hope to keep up with what's goin' on!

J Smith,

Nope, not even a chance to go to the knife store. The day that I had planned to go, we went to the museum (Royal Ontario Museum, very nice) instead and, once I am set free in a museum, I run wild and spend hours entertained. LOL!

My search continues and a certain person I know seems to be bidding on one... Hey, I might as well wish you luck, right, Lsaulog?

I also have in-laws who think I'm weird. There must be something wrong with in-laws. Hmmm...

Blades,

Yeah, LOL! I actually get along very well with my in-laws (mother, father, two brothers, and a sister-in-law in total, all siblings married). It's a large family, but I am the weirdest of them all.

Actually, my sister-in-law's husband also likes weapons (he has several firearms and likes knives), so we get along very well and he is an extremely nice guy. Both my husband and I consider him one of our favorite humans in the world. Must run in weapon-owners' genes, we are all so cool.

Lol,

True, Blades, in-laws are a strange bunch. But, better to hangout with in-laws than to HANG with out-laws!

I have had the same problem. They usually stop thinking that you are odd when you give them a spydie and they see the light.

Welcome back Kahz! Smart move on leaving the sharp stuff behind, cops tend to be a little twitchy lately.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Sword and Shield,

Yeah, I was in no mood to pick a fight. No, really, I think respect for their work (the people in security) is important, and I don't want to put myself in a position that will not gain anything but may only create problems.

Also, in summary I can say this, Canadians are extremely nice people.

Well my inlaws surely weren't very approve of my romance with knives.

I remember once I gave my wife's brother a (only!) SAK for his birthday because he travels a lot. nothing mean-looking one-hander or automatic, not even a spydie. only a SAK.

But that move caused an uproar by my father-in-law, because, for some strange reasons, there is a saying in Chinese that giving somebody a knife means you would cut off relations with them.

Its called, directly translated, "one cut(knife), two pieces".

So I never dared to give them anything with edge again...of course, except my wife. And recently she actually started to ask me make additional orders for her when I was ordering over the internet...Must not let her parents knwo otherwise I would be the devil...

I've started my in-laws off with easy stuff. Photon lights, Swiss-Tech Utilikey's. Stuff like that. Those things become useful, then I start the Spyderco's. A Cricket here, a Dragonfly there, maybe a Q. Its working so far.

hoho, spin is right. Chinese does have such saying. I still remember when my girlfriend (now she's my wife) gave me a knife as a gift, I was pretty scared
Well, it's strange that although she sent knife as gift, she always complain for my hobby of collecting knives after got married...

Ah... wives complain about everything...

Oh, I am a wife! Darn, forget it...

My husband still rolls his eyes every time he catches me playing with my knives like I was a child. I just love to hear that loud "SNAP" they make, sheesh! Can't a woman have some fun?

I think it's great that some women enjoy knives as much as I do. I honestly never met a woman who liked knives until I discovered this forum.
