HI, SAL IS THE C48 GPS BEING DISCONTINUED AND WHY IT IS A GREAT KNIFE?? ALSO WHEN DID THIS KNIFE COME OUT ON THE MARKET? AND DOES TIM WEGNER HAVE WEBSITE?

It is being replaced by and updated version called the ocelot. the ocelot is basically the same knife as i understand it ezcept that it has a compression lock.

Hi Steve. Most knives eventually are discontinued. As the sales decline over time, new models replace them. We generally try to keep about 30 models of folding knives in the line. With variations, that could be in the neighborhood of a hundred SKUs. Economics dictate limitations. Dealers and distributors dictate limitations. Reps dictate limitations. Somethings gotta go.

We do have a new Wegner designed piece in the works, but when a model goes, that doesn't necessarily mean that there will be a newer version of the same design.
