This has always been my favorite, and I wanted to ask some die hard spyderco fans

a question. If you could modify this knife,

what would you change or add to it.

(steel, handle material, color, things like that. All opinions will be appreciated.

I want one because everyone says it is good, but I recall it being rather big, especially for a 14 year old.
Maybe if it were 7 inches instead of 8.5 I would get it.

Hi Red - welcome to the forum.

I would give the SS model a better steel, and I would give the lightweight version a G-10 handle instead of FRN.

At least part of my wish is coming true as SAL has said versions with VG-10 steel are on their way

Let's see...a little larger, 440V and G10 handles....wait! that's the Military! OK..OK..a little smaller, ATS55 and G10 handles...no that's the G10 Standard! Well shucks, I guess just leave it alone.

Blade from the new model handle from the old model.SS with better steel.A g10 version with the shape of the SS would be nice.

Absolutely nothing! With the addition of VG-10 blades, it is hands-down the best lightweight, inexpensive (<$50) folder out there. That's an extremely important niche. A higher-grade version might be interesting (e.g., g-10 scales, compression lock, etc.), but then that's a completely different knife, being no longer lightweight nor inexpensive. But as for the endura in its current niche, I'd favor not messing with the winning entry, unless it's to slap on a full flat grind.

But, as long we're ruminating about high-end enduras, I'll say: g-10 scales, compression lock, vg-10 blade, full flat grind to the spine. I think I'd buy such a beast; in fact, I'm pretty sure I would. It'd basically deliver calypso-type performance in endura's clothing.

Don't change a thing, except for maybe a BG-42 blade. The grip and lockup is solid as a rock, so the blade is the only area I would tweak.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

I'd want frn handles, a reversible clip, a plain-edge option, and ATS-55 steel.

Wait! That's what I've already got. As someone who values function over form and who refuses to overspend for a knife, the Endura is perfect already. Way to go, Spyderco!

I'd like a slightly beefed up version, MBC grade lock, etc.. Maybe liners or partial liner(s). The endura fits my hand well, and since they already make a trainer seems like a good move.
