ZDP Endura or not?

#1

Post by spydutch »

Greetings you all :)

I just would very much like your opinion whether I should buy a ZDP Endura/SE or not?

Generally speaking I'm ok with my VG10 knives so do you think it's worth the price?

For the same amount of money I could buy almost 2 regular E4's ;)

However, I very much like the BRG handle, but I suppose it's stupid to buy a knife for it's handle.

I already have a back up Endura4, so I guess I will be set for a few years.

So what's your opinion about this?

Thanks very much.

Dag spydutch!

Get one! British Racing Green handle is beautiful. I think it's a classic already. I couldn't decide which to get, PE or SE so I got both! There's never too many Spydies around... :D

Prices from US to Europe weren't too bad either, about 60e each (+ shipping & customs). Makes sense if you order more stuff at the same time.

Here are the lovely Endura ZDP serrations next to a Police.

I would say depends on your budget. If you've got the cash, then why not. If you are a bit strapped for cash, or are on a budget for knives, I would get a different model. There are alot of very sweet new knives coming out this year, so if you are not independantly wealthy, spend wisely.

Since you already have an Endura4, you might consider waiting for the Stretch II to come out.

Unless you are like me, I got a Delica ZDP because I had to have one. "Need" was not the driving factor. :D

I hate to say it but I will... I don't think ZDP-189 and SE together are worth the extra dough, not for me anyway.. it doesn't seem to scratch very easily but it will chip under hard use, that is just my experience. I'm getting a PE Endura w/ ZDP for light use under the rationale that I might just never need to sharpen it. Well on second thought maybe it is worth it.. it sure is pretty that BRG E4 SE ZDP. I did admit in an earlier post that I abused my D4. What the ****. Don't listen to me.

I still think the Endura ZDP is the best deal, most knife for the money available. Joe
