EDC thread -- who's carrying what?

#1

Post by clovisc »

maybe it's a cliche thread, but it's always one of my favorites. i feel like getting to know what actually gets carried and used is one of major benefits of forums -- EDC is really the heart of the knife world!!!

today:
-- yellow tasman SE IWB (nearly every single day. this knife is kinda my lucky charm.)
-- R2 PE clipped front right
chadcom PE in watch pocket (another favorite. the trance is next on my to get list!!!)
-- black SE pacific salt on lanyard/carabiner, in back pocket, carabiner clipped to belt (been carrying and using this one HARD for nearly 3 years now! what a wonderful knife.)

cheap nokia cell
palm Z2 (possibly the most useful electronic device i own)
broken LM squirt on keychain
colibri lighter

might throw my new blue SE dodo in my front right pocket for extra fun...

Some of you all really need to take a picture of how you all can possibly carry all that stuff! Two knives is about my max.

Today...

Right now I have a blue Yojimbo.

Ever since it arrived, the very special Caly 3 which Sal sent me has been the "large knife" in my EDC trio every day. Yesterday it teamed up with a bloodstone Kiwi and the burgundy micarta Jester that has graced my key ring for over 3.5 years. Think I'll carry my maple Kiwi today. Tomorrow, since it's St. Patrick's Day, a malachite Kiwi seems the appropriate choice. :D Streamlight Twin-Task, V'nox Swisscard, and Stanley Wonderbar tucked away in my "man purse" in case of emergencies at the office. ;)

Well, at this moment I'm just carrying my green Ladybug/SE with fob in my pocket.

In my working jeans there's still my black Tasman/SE, my Endura 4/SE and POS Stanley boxcutter ready for my first nightshift tonight.

When I get out of the house this afternoon I might clip my ZDP Delica/SE to my pocket.

If I look around in this thread I feel myself poorly equipped :o - only one: a Caly 3 in plain fits all my needs.

Resurrection:

I just went through my Spydies and rediscovered my Atlantic Salt(first run I think). It was very stiff to open because about one and a half year back I hammered the pivot too much in an attempt to get rid of the bladeplay.

Well, I gave the knife a good wash and lube job, worked the knife a bit and what do you know, NIB smoothness with just a hind of the original play

So THIS it what I'm gonna clip to my pocket as soon as I've polished the clip ;)

Since I don't have to be PC today:

clipped to RFP: PE Millie :D
clipped to LFP: HDS EDC (small 100+ lumen led light)
Keychain: PE Jester.

LFP: Sony Ericsson K750i cell phone (old, but nice)

If I had to be a bit more discrete the Millie would have been exchanged with a PE Caly 3 (or small Persian on a dressier occasion)

Yablanowitz: That´s amazing. You surely must look really "sharp" with all those Spydies!!
Well, that´s something, when some people say I exagere when they learn that I carry 5 or 6 knives with me daily!

These days I carry:
Spyderco Caly3, Delica Brit green ZDP and Manix. In my pants.
A Calypso Jr, a French laguiole and a French Nontron, in my vest.
A Victorinox Champion in a little sheath in my belt.
And an old Kershaw lockback in my pants back pocket. (I´ve been carrying this old little knife in same place for the last 20 years)
Regards, Abel
