If it is a necklace, it should be interesting to look at.jaislandboy wrote:I vote for a Mini R2 necklace or maybe even a MiniManix necklace....
A lot of necklace jewelry is in the "tear-drop" form. Hmmm what Spyderco looks like a Tear drop?
The TOAD! :D
Follow the mushin, but pay it no heed.
Zen, you might be onto something there. A mini toad would be a crazy awesome thing to wear around your neck. Heck, I'd wear it, and I don't even like jewelery.
What other spydies look good closed? I nominate the native 1 and 2, and the lava. The lava has a great leaf shape when closed.
I'd still be super psyched about a micro harpy, man that would be cool. :D

Hmm I can't see the native or lava working very well, purely because of the choils. Part of the reason the mini-police works so well is that it's still got great ergo's, IMO it would be preferable for it to have good ergonomics rather than to look good and have the novelty value. I wouldn't mind if it was an entirely new design rather than a miniaturized version of an existing model, as long as the locks sturdy and it fits the hand (or fingers :P) well.

Well, if there's still any interest...
I've been working on some sketches between studying for finals, and now that finals are over it might be time to resurrect this thread.
At the moment, he ergos are designed for 3 different thumb and forefinger grip positions; the blade shape is as of yet undetermined (but likely wharnie); the lock will probably be a slipjoint, and at the moment it's designed to fold almost into a perfect circle when closed. Although everything else about it is ugly as **** right now, it's made for function. Working on a "release from the chain" system right now so it can actually be used...
But the real question: Is there any interest in an entirely new necklace knife right now?

A very wise man once told me "Eat to live; don't live to eat." ...To my knowledge that's the only stupid thing he's ever said.
Curious, I've pretty much completed a design as well. I won't show it at the moment, but to give you a hint, recurve, a lock like the one on the Spyderco Q, perfectly symmetrical (that was a pain!), flat area for engraving, etching or inlays. Oh, and tip-down carry using break-away chain or paracord. And I've gotten comments that it looks good, which is a first for my designs :o
I don't think that gives away too much.
