Well, for those that have never seen or heard of this elusive creature, I thought I would break out mine and take some pic's. The one's in VG 10 are very rare and hard to find as JD Spydo will attest to. I really like the coffin shape of the handle and the Cento-esque spear point blade. I don't know if they even exist, but I'd like to find one in VG 10 PS and one in AUS 8 PE. This is by far the smoothest opening Spydie I own. Hope you enjoy the pic's!
The C-56 Zowada is truly one of about 3 of Spyderco's truly LOST CLASSICS. I would say only about one out of 6 Spyderco collectors even know that they exist. Fewer than that even realize that they did make a very small batch of them in VG-10.
For as rare as they are ( the VG-10 in particular) they really haven't seemed to have generated the vibrant fanfare that they surely should have  .
This is all my opinion>> I think this was a true case of "wrong place, wrong time" for this model. I truly believe that if they re-introduced this model now with all the enthusiasm with tactical Spyders I think you would have a tough time keeping them on the shelf. If you think you can find one of these easily I think you are sadly mistaken.
When this blade does finally get it's well deserved attention it will be a very sought after collectible. I have heard from 2 extremely reliable sources that the Zowada was the worst selling Spyderco collaboration ever. If that is true and I believe it is then you have another factor that will make this a very coveted Spyder collectible. I have tried to find a used VG-10 Zowada for everyday carry>> I might as well have been looking for a platinum mine :o
Felly has a horribly unfair advantage being he is a Pawnbroker  . I think Deacon, Spyderwa and all the other mega-collectors better keep a watchful eye on this guy
Felly I truly hate you for having that other VG-10 Zowada  You must have made a deal with a rotten politician or something :p
**** yeah Felly! love them pimpin' pics of the T. Z... ..how's about a sprint run with ZDP189 and a compression lock linerless Burgundy / Green G10 handle sound? :cool
even better, come to think about it, Peel Ply CF all the way on this sprint TZ... :)

I only wish I was a pawnbroker! And I think I'd have to pick Golden CO. for my location if I was. Imagine all the Spyders that would come crawling in?
JD, how's about you just up and sell me that VG-10 TZ of yours!? :p :p :D
heh heh glad u approve Felly, see how predictable my "learned responses" to the peelply CF on the Military has made me salivate like a Pavlovian dog at the sound of it.... :D
I had one of these, but it was stolen enroute back to Golden for a repair. USPS eventually reimburse me for the loss as it was insured. Althoug it looked grand, I was not to impressed with the very small hole, the fact that the hole was only accessible from one side, and that on the side it was accessible, it was difficult to get a good purchase on the hole as it was deeply shrouded by the scales. That pretty much rules it out for any SD work, which given the blade geometry is pretty sad. Other than that it was great. Super materials and workmanship as always.

Absolute and utter Blasphemy!!! To think that I would stoop so low as to sell my only VG-10 Zowada
Well on second thought it's like the old WWF Wrestler Ted Dibiase used to say " Everybody's Got Their Price For The Million Dollar Man"
So if you want it Felly you just better figure on breaking into the kids college fund :D
