Blue Delica

#1

Post by Saint-Just »

Hi there
Just saw an ad on another forum for a blue ZDP D4.
I thought that
1) Blue delicas were an old story, with ATS 55 and certainly not D4
2) ZDP D4 were BRG.
Can someone here complete my education?

The first "sprint run" of D4 in ZDP were blue. If the price is right, grab it !
If you dont care for a blue handle you might as well buy a BRG. These are now a "mainstream" article with Spyderco.

Hope this helps. :)

I saw few of them sold on e-bay around $85 lately.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

Maybe it's time for me to pick one up then.... hmmmm... I like the blue handle the most though, dont care much about the steel (VG-10 works fine for me).

The blue handled ZDP-189 Delicas were the first solid ZDP-189 blades ever, and were a sprint run of 1200 pieces, while the BRG D4/E4's are regular production run.

The blue handle on the ZDP-189 sprint run is almost a gray colored blue.
First they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not stand up, because I was not a Trade Unionist.

RLR - agreed - its coolness is beyond questions. I was just a little surprised by the color when I got it a couple of weeks ago (as posted on this forum).

Saint-Just - I'd be interested in the link as well - also curious about the price as mine set me back about a buck ten before shipping.
