Looks like account hijack to me.

The seller has only ever bought on ebay before, according to feedback he has never sold anything.

No activity since Sept '06 except a $5 purchase on half.com. Probably done to ensure hijacking!!

Seeing as I am currently living in Arkansas (stated item location), maybe I should bid on it. I would be glad to "MEAT" this crook!

I do worry that I would be unintentionally forcing some other SpyderFan's bid higher!
I also don't need the collection should it be a real auction; I am collector #018 & own about 200 Spyders now!!

Still, what do you guys think? 3h 57m to go!!

I was hoping my first post here would have been on a more serrated topic than this!

First of all, welcome to the Forum Phil Gibbs! Sounds like you and Spydutch are going to get along just fine here. ;)

Stuff like this is bound to happen once in awhile and it's good to see all the response to this fraudulent activity, especially from the real seller and buyer who tipped us off to the fake auction. Thanks Cyberhawk and Daddy Barlow!! I was even thinking about bidding on this auction. :(

I told them in the last email that the winning bidder is going to be very unhappy.
If he does get screwed I hope we find out who it is so he will know that ebay was warned several times before the auction ended.

Man...the right thing to do seems to be to make an account and bid on it as someone is going to lose a lot of money because Ebay does not seem to care.

The cancelled bid was actually for $14,999.00 and the reason for cancelling it was the bidder wanted the items shipped to Nigeria. ?????
Interesting to say the least!!

I contacted the seller as well. Still...no reply. I also noticed the price "retract".

Just realized...this thread/post/s was my first on this forum. Gee...Wish it was under better circumstances.

I'm new to Spydies, so please forgive me in the future, if "silly" questions are asked. :D

IMO there is no such thing as a silly question. We all have them once in awhile and when learning about Spyderco there will be many!! ;) :D

Shipped to Nigeria, eh?

My wife used to work for FedEx and she told me about a shipping scam to Nigeria...someone would buy something from Ebay and have the seller ship the item...not sure about the rest of the details, but the seller would lose their item and it would eventually wind up in New Jersey...

So don't ship anything to anyone giving you a FedEx account on the Ivory Coast!!

This scam has been going on for the last year!

Tim :D
God bless!
