I love cats too!! We are the housekeeping staff for 4 magificant felines that were all homeless kitties, and they found their way to a warm and loving home! I adore cats!!

We DO have a dog; a Shiba Inu, that has many cat like characteristics. For example he is as fastidious as any cat can be, and is as fastidious about keeping himself clean as any cat. And....SHHHHHH, don't tell HIM, but his breed CAN climb trees.
"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."

better late than never....yeah Hannibal I love my blue persian mutt cat....Truth is my wife pressed the issue and I've grown to love my cat...
I don't know if they're more intelligent than dogs...but mine has such a short coat that I don't have to deal w/hairballs.....Jasmine was found in a barn (with a litter of other cats) near Louisville Kentucky.....a city named Bagdad (of all names) in KY.....so I named her Jasmine (thinking of the Aladdin cartoon... )...my wife chose her coz this kitten was the Spunkiest of them all (maybe 12 total)....and was not afraid of even dogs! :D

We have two cats right now. Max has been three, but two of those had come meowing at the door and never left again. They're both dead now though, one by FIP and one poisoned or hit by a car. :(
We always get our cats from the animal depot (or whatcha call it...where lost animals are brought to and things like that). No need to have a specific breed, a streetcat with his/her own will and character is nice too. :) We never clip/declaw. Their is a clawing pole inside and trees outside. Whenever they start clawing at furniture a short and loud "No!" is enough to make them stop.

This is my cat. She can be very sweet, but she's also very stubborn. And very intelligent!

Our other cat is just a standard tiger striped gray cat. She is really, really sweet, but immensely stupid. I lost count of how many times she fell off a table or chair while rolling around being stroked. Don't have a pic stored on this PC though.

While it takes a lot of time and effort, I haven't had a litterbox in over 12 years. "Higgins" here only has 2 brain cells to boot! He has blue eyes as well, we think he is a "Russian Snowshoe".

We have always had cats on the farm. You have a choice, cats or rats and mice. We have many coyotes. Some folks let natural selection keep down their cat population; I prefer to spey or neuter. Then I've got to have dogs to keep the coyotes from getting the smart cats that have learned to avoid the horned owls and red tailed hawks. I have never had to buy a cat. When school starts there seems to be an abundance of animals appearing rurally. My vet never has to worry about having his cutlery needs met; we haven't used dollars for 10 years.

If there is a prepubesent human on the farm there is probably one cat that has been elevated to the luxury of the "house". I have a dog and cat door into my knife shop and usually some heat. I have had several memorable and close relationships with my cats and dogs. I usually have a variety of snores and grunts and some very special smells going on when I'm working on knives. It is always a challenge to keep from getting a dog or cat hair between a back bar and a liner. Cat hairs are generally .002-.003 inches while dog hairs are .002-.006 inches depending of course whether it is spring or fall shed. Downy winter fur can be smaller....Take Care...Ed

Hey Rock, nice clan! Your little one has that "look", however, of a cat possessed.

Aloha ALL,

Count me in.

It'd take forever for me to talk about the feline members of our family, and I don't know if the picture thing works anymore? I tried several times to no avail.

In fact, SO much do I "Lava" my kitty's (I know, shameless C110 plug! :o ) that I have bonded with our recent cat, Anakin. I wear a scar on my forehead from this guy!..But there ain't NO way I am asking for a forum name change to HarryPotter! :o

More later...I forgot to add an important OT Thread...

God bless
