Hi guys! I just joined your forum because I really enjoy your chat. I have been reading it non stop. I am a knife collector and gun collector at heart and run a dealership during the day. I started carrying knives after I joined the army. I bought a delica. That was a great knife until someone else thought so too! I now have 125 knives in my collection with about 1/4 of them spyderco. I just purchased a new in the box persian and let me tell you guys who have not handled one try it. Boy does it fill the hand perfectly and the weight is perfect! I really like this knife! It has now become my edc knife. That is saying alot about this knife it has edged out some fine knives to fill that spot. My other favorite spyderco knives are the Michael Walker CF, and my delica SF stoneworks. If you HAD to... What would be the only knife you would own if you could only have one? Mine would now be the Persian I just love it! P.S. Thanks to all you guys who keep making this site really cool!

welcome christopher.....the Persian is one sweet knife! ....to choose one clipit is too difficult for me.....if I was down to 3 clipits to choose from...it'd be a flip of the coin between the 80mmManix, Lil Temp, or the new flat ground Chinook3! ;) .....i've never owned a Chinook before...but this one's my New Favorite Spyder!

One folder? That's tough.

For me, a Military probably. Lightweight, open construction, enough blade for just about any task, fine enough point for delicate work.

Welcome Christopher!

The three for me would be:

Chinook II
Lil' Temp S30V leaf
Paramilitary

If I had to choose only one; I really would not know :D

Welcome to the Forum.
Persian is the great knife, one of my top choices.
I cannot choose one, at least at this point.
My top choice are Persian and Caly3, runner up Adventura.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

If we're talking just one knife for my current living situation and not some theoretical survival situation than I'd have to go with the Dodo. It does everything I need. It's light weight, fills the hand like no other blade of it's size, and the versatile blade shape means it cuts just about anything well.

For me, it might be my Ocelot as it is on the beefier side of my Spydies without being massive or too heavy.

Welcome to the greatest forum on the planet!

I really can't decide which spydie is my "go to" knife. I'm gonna take a guess that the captain is going to be up there. But for now, the dodo and the salsa see a lot of pocket time. I'd probably choose the salsa if I couldn't carry them both, but they make a perfect pair for carry, they even have matching clips!

Only ONE knife?!?!?
ARE YOU INSANE?!?!?
I carry about a dozen at a time. If I only carried one at a time, I could carry a different knife every day for well over a year before I started repeating. Assuming of course that I didn't die of withdrawl from trying to cut back that much :D

Welcome to the forum, if I had to pick a single knife it would be the yojimbo. :)

Welcome to the forums Christopher and enjoy your stay

If I could choose only one knife it would be the Delica 3/SE. It's the only knife of all my Spydies(about 40) that I've been carrying and using for the past 3 months.

However this may change as soon as I get my Caly III/SE though ;)

Like most here, one knife ain't gonna happen but just for discussion, probably Native III. I like different things about each different :spyder: but the NIII is so very close to being my perfect knife. I find that really odd because:

I prefer in order CF, G10, Micarta, FRN handles.
I prefer ZDP-189, S30V, VG10.
I prefer larger holes (14mm+) and
I prefer grinds more like the Caly....

so, on paper, the NIII would be WAY down my list. But it isn't. It carrys great, it cuts great and it fits my big hand better than any small knife I've ever owned.

So what would be my perfect knife? Maybe a CF, ZDP Native III with a slightly larger hole??? Maybe.

Welcome to the forum!

My one knife would be the full sized Manix. Just a tank of a knife with a lot of blade to do anything you need it to.
