I've seen some video clips on its website, and it seems pretty cool. Looks like can save 2-3 seconds for opening while emergency...

One of my EDCs is a waved CQC7B. It comes out fast if I want it to, but I can also take it out of my pocket without opening it if I want to. The wave is just a cool feature. It is probably the fastest way to open a knife one handed if you so desire, not really a necessity, just kind of fun.

I recently bought an Emerson PSARK and I gotta tell ya the wave is so fast it's like pulling a fixed blade out of your pocket. it's not only fast it's very useful for opening with gloved hands because you don't mess with any opening stud, disk hole or anything. it's not just a novelty. IMHO it is up there with the thumb hole as far as innovation and usefulness. I love my Emerson. But Spyderco still Rocks!! long live the Harpy (I gotta mention it in all my posts I think)

Between those two, I find the Wave to be faster. Faster still than the Carson Flipper is the Kershaw Ken Onion Speed Safe, especially on the new Chive. The blade is so light that it just screams out there. Better than most automatics. However, having carried Spydercos for so many years, I've gotten pretty **** fast with just thumb pressure.

Its all fun and games til somebody loses an eye, then its fun annd games you can't see.

IMO, the wave is the most awesome means of opening a knife out there. My Commander is the fastest opening knife I own. The Carson Flipper is ok, but not really that much better than a thumbstud (if you flick it). The wave is a force to be reckoned with.

Gotta throw my two cents in.
The wave rocks. The E-Commander is my primary EDC Blade. A buddy of mine and I used to have fast draw competitions, he carried an automatic and I had a Balisong. He'd always beat me. (I was close though)
I pulled the Commander on him one day before he even got his auto out of his pocket.
I spent the rest of the day feeling smug.
I love the wave.
