Aloha ALL!

#1

Post by DAYWALKER »

Hey everyone!

Missed being here, and most likely missed a LOT. :o

I have a new shift in **** that I am trying to get used to, and this allows me more time with my family...my life feels "almost normal" again. However, you all are my ohana also, and I got some catching up to do with a LOT of you via email, as well as here, and that *should* start tomorrow on my God given day off! :)

Also, having jumped right back into Kendo after an over 8 year lay off, training with my daughter in the same art, as well as trying to figure out how not to get "hit as much" from one of my sensei's, (Ryokudan: 6th degree black  I'm sporting a niiiiiiiiiiiiiice bruise on my right tricep now from getting hit by him...two weeks ago!) HAS been occupying a lot of the time I have left before I gotta get to sleep so I can report to **** on time in the morning's now.

Just kinda strange timing, ya know? I mean, with the release of the Lava, and then hearing I am in the November issue of BLADE (Which I have yet to get a copy of)...well...I just wanted to make sure that you all didn't think I turned all, as we say here, "High Maka-maka"...i.e: "High nosed idiot". I said it before and I will say it again: I am an ELU *first*, and a designer second. The day that order gets "reversed", my time in the industry will end. (I know, I know...so maybe "designer" should fall waaaaaaaaaay lower on the list. :o )

That being said, it's time for my daughter's "bed time Kendo no Kata" (Mandatory kata consisting of 7 long and 3 short sword forms)...IF I can pry her away from some Disney Channel flick called, "Wendy Wu; Homecoming Warrior".

God bless and Lava you guys...

Chad, if you want to keep yourself from bruising in the future, I've got a foolproof method for it.

Hit the other guy first ;)

Wiseman say bruise from Kendo Ryokudan better than bruise from wrestling naked con in shower.

If you wish to at least equalize your skills to a Ryokudan, a good shortcut is to get Tom Cruise's hairdresser from "The Last Samurai", you just can't get into a match without good hair. Short of that, more bruises for you.

Good to see ya DW.

My Dear Chad,

I recall commenting to my Lady just yesterday that I was becoming a bit concerned that you might be having PC issues, so long had it been since I saw you online. I am glad it is nothing so serious. :D

Glad to have you back!

Chad / Daywalker -

Where the **** have you been? It's good to have you around
again anyways, ya' ol' "cage soldier"!

Glad you're back Chad

You seem to have a rather bad habit of hurting yourself with weapons. Before Kendo it were butterfly knives and now it's the Shinai

Take care bro' and "enjoy" your new shift in ****.

Aloha SSifu,

Good to see you also. However, no ducking for me against THAT sensei. Figure I got a nice bruise from him when he *thought* my body (Do) was open for a strike, I can imagine if I HAD ducked...my right ear would now be next to my left! :p

Besides, I know YOUR so called, "ducking" only is a means to destroy your opponents lower extremities. Can't do that in Kendo.

God bless :)

Aloha puyallupknifeguy!

Thanks, good to see you too. Yeah, no way will I ever have an attitude "pointing at coconuts"...unless they have fallen from the tree that is. ;)

YES...did use some Dit Da Jow that Doc sent awhile back. Got rid of the redness pretty fast, but still running that niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice purple-ish black color. Yay.

Time with the family...man, you have NO idea how great it is after being on my old 1500-2300 hrs and beyond shifts...I thank God for the change!

Take care and I need your addy.

God bless you and yours :)

Aloha Scott,

Thanks for the advice...but oh man, this guy is FAST. However, I just have to be faster. ;)

Too bad I cannot put no stickers on my gear...One of the Nekid Aardvark would distract him long enough for me to score on him...either that or he'll kick me out. :p :p :p

God bless and we'll be in touch after you're done *laughing* at... ;)
